Green Bay is pushing to host the draft, and Brad Toll, the president of the city’s convention and visitors bureau, says his city could manage a Philadelphia-sized crowd.

“My gut feeling is with the people they had in town, we could accommodate that,” Toll told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Between the Resch Center and Titletown District, we certainly have every bit of space they need.”

But the problem facing Green Bay is less about the physical space to fit that many people than about the hotel rooms to accommodate them. Green Bay has just 4,700 hotel rooms while neighboring Appleton adds another 3,000. The Philadelphia region has more than 35,000 hotel rooms.

I thought they'd make hotel rooms a problem. It has sounded like the Packers/Green Bay would like the NFL Draft to be in Green Bay for 2018 and 2019 in other articles I've read, especially for when the Packers turn 100 years old in 2019.

It would be really nice to see the Packers get a chance to host the NFL Draft... of course, fans might be too nice, as they seemed to enjoy when the fans were hating the presenter more. 🤣

Of course, the NFL seems to only be targeting some of the largest NFL markets... so the Packers only reasonable chance at this maybe the 100 year anniversary, or if the NFL splits the draft day up into different areas like they have talked about. Maybe having a different location for each of the 3 days of the draft, which I don't prefer, but they don't care what I prefer. If that happens day 2 or day 3 would be more likely as they wouldn't let GB have day 1 and because as seen if the Packers trade back, may not have a day 1 selection.

Does the NFL acknowledge 1919 or 1921 as the first year of the Packers?

I believe the commissioner has acknowledge that the Packers 100 is coming at the stock holders meeting which he attends.

I am skeptical. It is not just room availability it is the number of 4 or 5 star rooms. Heaven forbid the corporate elite be forced to stay in a 3.5 star place.

If they do all of that for the draft as well, then I don't think they will let the Packers get all three days ever... with an exception to a slight chance with the Packers 100 year celebration.

Because it's a milestone, and at times the commissioner and Mark Murphy seem extra tight together on things. Plus the NFL likes to reward physical expansion which the Packers are doing with Packers Titletown District.
