why is it that when a GM doesn't blow the company wad on top-priced FA every season he's too conservative, not risky enough... but when that same GM plays it a little dangerously and risks a draft pick on a player with huge amounts of ability but an injury history, the GM is criticized for being too risky?

People are screaming for him to roll the dice, then he does, and he gets blasted for it.

Personally, I would rather see him out for this week, heal up and possibly have another surgery and get ready for all of the off season strength and conditioning work..

Then come into camp, ready to roll and prove the reason why he was drafted in the 1st..

If he comes out not ready to go.. IMO.. time to cut the ties and move on and not keep him on the 53..

I agree. If he shows up to camp overweight and out of shape, I think he should be cut. There's no reason to keep a guy on the roster who knows he's injury prone but doesn't have the passion and foresight to keep himself physically fit.

He wasn't injured during his college career, he wasn't injured when he was drafted and he wasn't injured during his 1st 2 years and he has played through injuries.
This wasted pick doesn't qualify.
