I just recorded a podcast on the Packers running backs with my colleagues Jason Perone and Marques Eversoll. One of them, I can't remember which, asked an interesting question: Will Brandon Saine make the Packers roster over James Starks? Saine missed most of the 2012 season after blowing out his knee. He has 18 carries [...]

IMO, Saine is more of a complete back than Starks.. but I am suspecting that if either really struggle to stay available this offseason and into camp, neither may be a part of the 2013 Packers.

Some of the depends on the draft and additional thereafter.. but I am guessing the both should be on notice so to speak.

Starks can't stay healthy so send him packingšŸ˜† .
Haven't seen enough of Saine to know what he has but I'll go with him for now.

We all know why Brandon Saine should be cut, same reason Packers should send Ryan Pickett and A.J. Hawk all packing.

James Starks is the clear front runner between he and Saine for the backup spot behind DuJuan Harris.

Neither. Time to move along to players that are more "available."

I was hoping for so much more from James Starks. I would love to see what he could do playing for a full season.

First they both need to prove they can stay healthy.

Starks at RB,

Saine needs to bulk up a little so he can take Kuhn's spot in 2014.

It's not like this is the third time in three season's he was lost for the year. Mike said Saine was our most consistent back in 2011, and that was his rookie year. Dude's got measurables.

As for Starks, he's proven he can play. He just needs to stay healthy. One major thing he could do to stay healthy is run lower.

While Starks has shown us a little bit of his ability. I have not seen anything from Saine outside of the preseason that has interested me at all.

It is hard enough for a player to return from an ACL for a RB is has to be even more difficult.

I am ok with it if one or both make the team. I am ok with it if GB finds replacements and both are released.

Starks has at least shown the ability to run the ball at a high level. Saine has never done anything but have a fast 40 time.
