Well GB was 6th in the league in passing first downs despite being 16th in attempts. Sure scoring really quickly can possible be a negative for the defense but that isn't the main problem on GBs defense. The main problem is the defense isn't very good at stopping teams on 3rd downs or preventing 1st downs in general. They tend to tighten up in the red zone but you can't just blame the offense for why the defense cannot get themselves off the field.

GB runs one of the most efficient offenses in the league. They convert 3rd downs well, they don't have to punt that often, they don't turn the ball over. All of these things greatly outweigh the negatives of a quick scoring drive every now and then. If the defense wants to rest they need to get their own asses off the field every once in a while instead of giving up 5-6 minute FG drives.

Good Article - it says virtually the same as what I have been saying all along hahaha. Longer is better. They are saying 6 instead of 4. I say 10 instead of either 6 or 4. It also says the Ravens and Saints are counting on big cap increases in the future - the Flacco and Brees contracts are very similar to the example I wrote up about Rodgers in structure. JSOnline says they are between 23 and 25 million per year. Just make it an average of 24 million and get the job done. We actually could be better off cap-wise if the Rodgers and Matthews deals go throw, as instead of the well known $18 million figure under now, there is actually about $32 million to work with including what those two will count this year based on current contracts. This is NOT the mess some make it out to be.
