In follow up to my previous post....

I know these are only highlights... But just look at those strides, that ability to adjust to the ball, willingness to go for some extra yardage...

I'm not that big a fan of him, but I am a fan of a guy called Hunter. WR from Tennessee. 2nd round tag, but I think he'll be gone by the time we pick.

He was one of the most promising prospects, even drawing comparisons to Randy Moss, before he blew out his ACL. When he came back from that, his production didn't return as fast as everyone hoped. Especially the exlosiveness and speed seemed to be gone, together with making some mental errors and dropping the ball from time to time.

He goes to the combine, runs a 4.44, jumps a 39.5 vert and a WR-best 11'6 broad.

And all of that at 6'4, 200.

If anything, that tells you that his exlosiveness is coming back.

The hand issue... I think we can fix that.

If we manage to pick him up in the 2nd, this could be a very, very good receiver for us for a long time... Asuming his knee will hold up.

Ogletree is a better pick for us. Manti Teo. I don't like him for first round value. The guy is just slipping in this draft.. I don't know what all the hype was for this guy during the season. If we are looking for a ILB if all else fails in the first round. Take Ogletree. The guy has freakish size and speed. 6-3 242 pounds. Used to play safety so he can cover people. Not many LBs on our team can do that effectively. If Arthur Brown (Nevada) falls to us in the 2nd round take him. IMO we need to take a defensive lineman in the first round. Then a O-Line in the second. Datone Jones (UCLA) or Jesse Williams (Alabama) would be great pickups in the 1st round. Barrett Jones and Travis Frederick are great picks in the 2nd round as well.

My Needs for the draft goes DE,OL,S,ILB,RB,TE,WR

From the fake girlfriend hoax to now, everything has been overdone. If the analysts are going to nab one guy for test scores but not the next, there is something wrong.

The 40 yard dash sometimes has too much stock placed on it.

See below. Better test between the two highlighted.

Alec Ogletree
40- 4.7 seconds
Bench- 20 reps
Vert- 33.5 inches
Broad- 122 inches
3 Cone- 7.16 seconds
Shuttle- 4.39 seconds

Manti Te'o
40- 4.82 seconds
Bench- NA
Vert- 33 inches
Broad- 133 inches
3 Cone- 7.13 seconds
Shuttle- 4.27 seconds

The test scores are pretty comparable. I am really shocked that Te'o's (<--that is just weird to do) draft stock is tumbling, as some analysts would say because of his "disappointing" 40 time.

Aside from the testing scores because that doesn't tell the whole tale, final season stats...
Ogletree
63 tackles
48 assisted
111 total tackles
11.5 for loss
3 sacks
1 interception

Te'o
55 tackles
58 assists
113 total tackles
5.5 for loss
1.5 sacks
7 interceptions

Clearly, the competition both teams play are different but Georgia also had their fair share of powder games (I count at least 5). Ogletree is a good player, I am not trying to dispute that...but you aren't going to get much difference between Ogletree and Te'o. Te'o had 7 interceptions in a season so I'd say the kid probably has a knack for pass coverage. I know two of those interceptions were tipped, but he caught the ball nonetheless.

I'd take Te'o over Ogletree if both were available. Plus, a fake girlfriend is easier to deal with than some DUI's and failed drug tests 😆

4.4 40, almost 40 vert...plus highlight film. 🤤

I typically follow walterfootball.com for mock draft stuff and this year he has been pissing me off...

I know, I know...its just mock drafts.

First, he had the Packers taking Keenan Allen. Sure, Jennings is on his way out so it would seem the Packers top need is at WR. False.

Updated his mock draft after the combine, some deals were done and some more news/rumors were spilled.

With the recent comments made by Finley (you know everything said by Finley is 100x's worse than if someone else said something), Walter goes as far to say that Jason La Canfora is reporting Finley will not be with the Packers next season. I can't find anything saying this.

Anyways, his updated draft leads him to say the Packers will take Tyler Eifert (TE-ND) with their 1st round choice.

Your thoughts?

For the record, if Jennings AND Finley were to depart...I don't think that this offense is successful. Somewhere in the line-up of team needs, WR or TE needs to be entered into discussion and somewhere closer to the front of the line.
