I seem to remember a quarterback playing with a broken thumb, when he could barely hold onto the ball, because (as he himself admitted), he wanted to keep his precious consecutive-games streak alive.

As the gnome would say in a situation like this:

He played 9 regular season games that year with a broken thumb:

-He led the league in touchdown passes that year.
-Only had 5 fumbles. 2nd lowest total in his career.
-Completed 65.4 percent of his passes. 2nd best completion percentage in his career.

Kind of hard to do when you can "barely hold onto the ball."

Did you seriously just take a shot at Favre for leading us to the playoffs with a broken thumb?

If so then the wow this year has been a lot worse then I thought.

Anyways on to the topic, Rodgers needs to play and finish the last two games if we finish strong we've seen how much that helps going into the next season, we win out with a double division sweep and we will feed off that at the beginning of next season. Flynn and Brohm will get their time in the Preseason, especially now that Rodgers wont need as many reps as he got this time around.

Damn . . . I just got served by Ironman. I think I will go huddle in the corner for a while, pull the foot out of my mouth, and suck on my throbbing toe.

En route to a 10-6 record, Favre threw 32 TDs that year against -- well -- against 21 INTs. Only Marc Bulger threw more INTs that year.

The Packers scored 442 points that season and only gave up 307 -- an amazing +135 point differential. Imagine how huge the differential might have been had he not given the ball away 21 times!

I'll admit I goofed on this one. What I remembered from that season was the frustration of all those INTs; I'd forgotten about the TDs.

His 32 Tds were also League Leading too just for future reference 😉

I was hoping you'd dig in your heels and defend it anyway !

The sheer entertainment value in watching our token doggie fend off the Packershome.com equivalent of Mogadishu skinnies would have been awesome !

Never fear. I haven't conceded my consecutive-starts claim yet. I'm still digging for documentation.

Check 1999, and 2000. Brett really struggled these 2 years, and it was because of injuries (sprained thumb, sore elbow), and probably should have been benched in favor of Matt Hasselbeck.

No, I say give Rodgers anything and everything he can handle. He should be allowed to struggle when he does with the team and he should be able to rejoice and savour the moments when he wins. He's the leader right now and he needs the experience. There's no need to shy him away from a negative spotlight because this is probably not the only losing season Rodgers will go through. I think Rodgers can bounce back from this season mentally stronger for having been a part of it in its entirety.

why sit aaron. he has played better than the world expected in his 1ST year as a starting qb. the packers are 5-9 simply because they can't hold a 4th quarter lead.
