Agreed. Rodgers has thrown way more awesome balls then crappy ones. I don't think I am in denial here, but I don't think this was an awful season. Our record is awful, but man, we were in those games against what turned out to be the best division in the NFL (nfc south).

Play him. These two last games are still important, playoffs or not. They're divisional foes, and I always want to sweep the Bears.

The kid's got all offseason to get his shoulder right, and I'd like to see him start every game this season.

I guess it really depends if the shoulder is in threat of additional injury.. if so.. sit and heal.

If not.. I see the point of playing him out.

Clarification I guess to my stance.

I say no way. These players are warriors. They really are. They live and die with each win and loss. Benching Aaron, for whatever reason, cannot be a positive thing, especially at this early point in his career. For all the crap we heard before the season, i think it's important for him to actually play a full season. Whatever lingering injury he has, he'll have a full off-season to recover; an extra two weeks won't make a difference. Good question RP. I'm sure it will start some positive conversation, which was probably your intent. I hope you're doing well, bud.

Agreed that it's an interesting topic, and you made another good point WRT perceptions - I would think it'd be better for him to let him tough out the whole season, and get the "fragile" monkey off his back, at least a little.

I mean, can you imagine how the anti-Rodgers contingent would react if he sat the last two games of the season (against division rivals, one of which might be trying to avoid going 0-16)? And god forbid we lost to the Lions with him sitting.

Nope, he needs to be out on the field.

Hell, you can replace "Mike McCarthy" with any coach in the league and you'd still be right. For that matter, my HS coach wouldn't let me take a play off unless my leg had literally fallen off my body.

Every game started is a learning experience...especially the one vs. teh Bears. You need to play him. He needs to figure out how to finish games. That doesn't come from the bench. If we are willing to let him sit to heal, what about all the other key players? Should we sit Jennings, Driver, Grant, Kampmann, Woodson, Collins, and Harris?

Hell we have to play every first teamer we have including Aaron. We need to roll through our last two games with fire to build momentum for next season. I think it would make everyone think this team is laying down and that could have nothing but negitive affects on next season.
We need to corect mental mistakes and gel as a team. Something we haven't seen in a while. Smoking the bears and lions could give us a jump start on next year with momentum to build on, letting every player on the team leave with their heads a bit higher.
