Out of all the comparisons made between Rodgers and X player... this might fit the best with his candor and awareness on the move.

Young, IMO, was a cut above most in terms of his awareness and accuracy as a QB, something Rodgers has most definitely defined as a core strength in his game.

Rodgers' QB style inspired by Steve Young

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Aaron Rodgers grew up watching Steve Young scramble, stay alive in the pocket and connect on throws downfield several seconds after most NFL quarterbacks would have thrown the ball away. That is how Rodgers believes the position is best played, and it's worked well enough for him to result in a Super Bowl championship and a Most Valuable Player award before the age of 29.

Rodgers is elite when it comes to performing under pressure from an opposing defense. Part of that is due to his ability to evade would-be-tacklers behind the line of scrimmage, along with his accurate throws on the run to receivers working to get open. But it's all just part of the philosophy that Rodgers has been working to perfect for many years.

"It's just the way I play; I like to extend plays when the opportunity is there," Rodgers told FOXSportsWisconsin.com this week. "I've always been a pass-first guy outside the pocket. I think those guys are the most dangerous when you keep the play alive and you're able to be in a position to throw the football outside the pocket.

I'm glad he used Young and not Favre. As much as I like Favre, Aaron is a better QB because he doesn't make mistakes or force plays.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

But, I think Favre also suffered from tunnel vision at times - where Rodgers seems to be a better distributer of the football.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I've made this comparison before.

Rodgers reminds me of a right-handed Steve Young sometimes, but he also has a ton of Montana traits, which hopefully will translate into a similar career.

http://www.packershome.com/yaf_postst12516p3_How-do-Green-Bay-Packers-last-two-Super-Bowl-teams-match-up.aspx?=

I think it's the efficiency. Young was an efficient passer. He'd seldom turn the ball over. He also chose when to run. That's what Rodgers does better than most so-called scramblers. He knows when to run and his awareness is off the charts. He always knows where the first down marker is and he normally gets there. Those two traits (efficiency as a passer & scrambling) are very Young like.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
