ROFLMAO, the best is yet to come.

i think we are so bad Detroit will beat us.

Nice job Ted Thompson , nice depth, Lets trade down a few more times, get rid of some more talented DT, and make no effort to sign any high caliber free agents, force a great qb out of town for a avg player at best, and then pay that unproven qb huge sums of money for falling apart every time the team falls behind.

Huuraahhhh!!! Go Green!!

So are the most on this forum. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, you can be a Favre fan all you like.

The biggest problem is that Favre gets brought into all kinds of discussions that he has nothing to do with. And calling Rodgers gay and having a qoute like that in your sig also doesn't help Allday.

'Defense struggeling in loss against NO'

FARFE WOULDVE BEATEN THEM, WE WOULDVE SCORED 80 POINTS.

That's kind of the problem there.

you can bank on pittsburgh, baltimore, eagles, giants, Tampa will all be strong teams.

Tampa Bay 9-7 4-12 11-5 5-11 7-9

*Denotes Superbowl victory

Over the past five years, Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay are a combined 222-178-0 (.555). In other words, pretty mediocre. By way of comparison, Green Bay is 45-35-0 (.563) over that same stretch. Not much better, but definitely not worse. And given that everyone of those five teams has had AT LEAST one non-winning season in that five-year stretch, your assertion has no standing whatsoever.

Now, just to be fair, I'll include this season's records.

Team 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003
Baltimore 11-2 5-11 13-3 6-10 9-7 10-6
Green Bay 5-8 13-3 8-8 4-12 10-6 10-6
New York 11-2 10-6* 8-8 11-5 6-10 4-12
Philadelphia 7-5 8-8 10-6 11-5 13-3 12-4
Pittsburgh 10-3 10-6 8-8 11-5* 15-1 6-10
Tampa Bay 9-4 9-7 4-12 11-5 5-11 7-9

*Denotes Superbowl victory

Now if we Include this season, the picture changes somewhat. The other five teams' records rise to a combined 270-194-0 (.581) vs. Green Bay's 50-43-1 (.537). But then, you cherry-picked your examples very well; by strange coincidence, they're all having good seasons this year. :-D

But the fact remains: you can't predict anything one season to the next. With these teams alone, we have an example of a team going 6-10 one season and 15-1 the next (Pittsburgh), a team going 13-3 one season and 5-11 the next (Baltimore), and of course, a team going 13-3 one season and starting out 8-5 the next.

You just don't know.

ok i'll give you the Baltimore one but i think with Flacco the team will stay consistent but the giants steelers eagles and Tampa are consistent winners they just retool their teams unlike us we are always rebuilding. Last year for the Packers was a fluke

As we stand right now we are 1 game under 500 with TT

Brnt I was just judging by the teams and how good they will be next year, you can bank on pittsburgh, baltimore, eagles, giants, Tampa will all be strong teams. And gimmie a fricken break people saying Ted Thompson picking up a few playmakers hahahahaha that makes me laugh so hard. And Brnt what makes you think you have so much knowledge of the NFL just because i can look at a team and give an honest opinion about it unlike you. How the hell do you know Rodgers is going to be any good or that this team will be better next year?

"dhazer" wrote:

We aren't playing the Giants next year, they've clinched the division and I think we'd all agree we aren't going to win ours at this point. In the South we could conceivable end up playing any of the four teams given that we might still finish second in the division, though it will be difficult, and any of those teams could finish either second or third. In the East, we could still end up playing any of the three not located in New York/Jersey. So for all we know we only play two of the teams you said are banks to be good. Also, we're playing the NFC West. They've been consistently one of two of the worst divisions in football for years and that may very well continue next year. Cincinnati and Cleveland might well be terrible again next year. Then we have 6 games against the NFC North, which we've consistently done well in the last couple years. The bottom line is, it seems extremely unlikely we have a schedule as tough as this year's. I mean, our opponents to this point have a combined 95-76, and that will come down when we play the Lions again, but that's got to be one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. Finally, Nonstop and some other people made some good points about the difficulty in predicting how good individual teams are the following year and that we have no idea what teams will do in the off season. Your picking a record for next year is insanely premature.
