Franchise Gregorious and then let him walk.

As for Boykin, 2nd round type or there is always a bunch of these guys to look at every year.

A few years ago it was Chasin West. He was going to be the diamond in the rough. He isn't even on a team this year.
Next it was Gurley. Then Borel. There have been so many I can't remember all their names.

It is great to have the #5 or 6 WR as a project. It is great to try and stash someone on the PS. There is a reason they are #5 or a PS player. They are a long shot to make the team and make a significant contribution. GB has not had many DD. These guys do look good but they also have their blemishes too. A few can over come them. Most can not. Renaldo Nehemiah was fast, strong and had good height. Did I mention he was fast? But he couldn't catch the ball. He couldn't contend with the physical corners in the league. I suspect he would have had a lot more receptions if he played in 2012 instead of 1982.

What WPR said. I didn't realize the $$$ was that much. If he demands too much money, we'll be forced to franchise him, then let him walk.

And Boykin will most likely be the next...geez, I forgot the names. I guess WPR has a better memory than I do. No offense to Boykin of course. I hope he turns out to be a class A stud. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

It helps to have a little outside assistance. SI did a short article on the track speedsters who later played in the NFL. Nehemiah and Willie Gault and a few others were discussed.

The reason I have a little more hope for Boykin is that he has shown better hands and adjustment to the ball than most of the others. IMO that's big. If he continues to do that he'll stick and play.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

I think the only way we let him walk is if he keeps getting injured. Jennings is a player you can't let go.. Just like Driver in his prime up till now, he's a leader, productive, and a class act. The guy is an important part of the character and chemistry of this team. This will be a tough decision and a big pill to swallow if we let him go.

Ah ha. Brett Swain. Brain fart.

Boykin more than likely will be this year's Brett Swain. Would love to be wrong as I'd love to see someone who wasn't even drafted kick ass on the Packers, but the odds are the odds. He's a long shot to be anything more than a #4 or #5 WR.

Ruvell Martin had good chemistry with Aaron. I don't think he ever made it past #4, did he? Looks like he's still active in the NFL (on the Bills), but he hasn't caught a pass yet this year. Caught a few last year.

There's no way in Hades Jennings warrants or has earned an elite receiver contract, and that is exactly what his agent will demand and get - but not from the GBP. So Wayne - here's something we do agree on - franchise his ass for another year and let him walk. By then Cobb and Jordy - and OMG who lit a fire under Jones' ass - we will have enough for our offense to flourish. But we will need to find a stud TE because Finley is damaged goods.

In the red zone, Rodgers would throw Ruvell jump balls... and being 6'4" he should of been able to make that play.... but VERY VERY VERY rarely did he ever make them... WHY? Because he wasn't ready to jump... he wasn't thinking about using that height... he was looking for the back corner pass (which normally doesn't work unless you out quick or speed the CB (and have good to great placement of the ball).

Now people often say... Ruvell might of just been doing what the play call for... and that a good excuse.... other than one thing... it happened WAY WAY too often... I saw Ruvell vs. a short DB ... I could call it out... jump ball to Ruvell ... Ruvell wouldn't even be ready to jump as the ball past over his head.

Basically, Ruvell was a big WR... and everyone seem to know it other than Ruvell... who was trying to play like he was Jennings or Driver (and for the record Nelson did some (not all) of that as well early on trying to make cuts and moves like Jennings/Driver (big guys can't do all of those moves and shake a guy), but Nelson knew when to use his height in the passing game... Ruvell didn't...

Boykin looked great in the preseason.
Of course he has yet to get any "real" game action yet. That said, i'm glad they haven't had to throw the kid into the fire. That can ruin a young guy like that.
Look at Cobb. Who would have thought he would turn into the so far great WR and returner? Maybe Boykin will be another Thompson "stud".

Only time will tell, of course. But i'm cautiously optomistic.

Martha Careful (1h) : meh
Zero2Cool (5h) : Sounds like Walker and Wyatt will be with Packers for beyond 2026

wpr (8h) : Only 4
Zero2Cool (11h) : If only we had a topic to read about and discuss it. That's something new website must have!!!
dfosterf (11h) : Justice Musqueda over at Acme Packing put up an excellent synopsis of the Packers 1st round options this am
wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
