Cornerback James Nixon wasn’t invited to the combine but in his pro day in advance of this year’s draft, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.31 seconds.
That helped him attract a free-agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals, who then cut him at the end of training camp.
After a workout with the Packers on Monday, he was signed to their practice today.
Why?
Probably because he said he repeated his 40 time of 4.31 seconds during that workout in the Don Hutson Center.
“They were surprised because they said it’s a slow turf,” Nixon said. “So I guess that was good. They were a little surprised by that, but opportunity came knocking, so I had to show up.”
