I'm not saying Davis wasn't a stud RB, he definitely was. However, you cannot deny that Denver had one, if not the best run-blocking Offensive Line back these days. Heck, they even made guys like Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson and Clinton Portis look like good to elite RBs.

Summary of my thoughts. We need to have a "effective" running attack that compliments our pass first mentality. We need to run the ball throughout the regular season to prepare this football team for the postseason. In the post season we need to be able to run the ball if the game dictates it.. milking the clock, controlling the clock, protecting the defense, assisting the offensive line in slowing down the rush a bit.. picking up short conversation chances to name a few examples.
No we don't need to trade high picks for a stud back.. Benson will give us what we need this season. I also think Green will pick it up as the season progresses. Saine and Starks can assist as well.
I would however like the Packers to start picking a back every couple years in the first two days.. doesn't need to be a blue chip round one guy. Use them out of college and if possible one more contract if reasonable.. if not, move on.
Last week was about the prefect blend in my eyes.. the passing game had plenty of shots still to break that game wide open.. and they will.
