What is with the guy? I mean, WTF??? He lips off about the Pats and Saints TEs not being all that great, and what does he do? Boy, did he look like shit last night.

I was going into this season optimistic because it just made sense. 2011 coach said Finley needs to be healthy for a whole season. So, figure that riding on his mind (which it did as he mentioned a few times in interviews during the season) and also being a contract year ... I figured alright his concentration is tweaked because he's trying to stay on the field and also its a contract year.

He also hasn't had issues with drops prior to 2011, so again, it just made sense it was an aberration.

Finley having three drops in two games ... I have no explanation for it. It's clearly a lack of concentration, but my god, you're a professional, get with it!

As for the fumble, I hate fumbles, but we can't fault him for that. It's only the 2nd time in his career he's fumbled and that prick Charles Tillman seems to get one per game against the Packers. (its usually James Jones lol)

I'm starting to wonder about Jordy Nelson too. Aaron Rodgers was 3rd with 40 dropped passes last season and I fear similar results in 2012.

Pretty much over Finley. He and Jones can take a friggin' hike s'far as I'm concerned.

    I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Personally, I'm not going to count out Jones or Finley. Both of them have the talent to be major contributors, but both of them are lacking. I guess I'm harder on Finley because he tends to talk more, and will no doubt try to suck up a handsome salary. I couldn't care less if Finley is running his mouth and dancing all over the field as long as he's catching balls that hit him in the hands (and then holding on to it), and capable of blocking someone. But if he's not doing his job, these things just make him look worse than Jones because he's drawing attention to himself.

I feel like 3 years of bungled bullshit is enough to let go of my benefit of the doubt.

I was pro-Finley all last season and this past off-season. Consider that changed...don't care for him anymore. Watched him closely yesterday and he wasn't pulling any special coverage on defense. He wasn't doing anything spectacular. Another dropped pass that hit him in the hands and a critical fumble, resulting in Bears points (right?).

Yesterday, I thought and posted under the Jennings thread after McGinn had wrote an article about trading him. The offense clearly sputters or fails without Jennings on the field. At this point, if anyone should be traded on the offense, it is Finley. It just might be too late to get anything of value for him because he can't catch, can't make the big play, and has a big mouth at some times. He demonstrates all three of those traits constantly.

    Over him.

If we weren't already loaded at WR, I'd say that we should convert him into a WR officially... He lines up in the slot all the time anyways and can't block for shit, why not play to his strengths especially with a renewed focus on the run game? But the bottom line is that Finley is expendable, Jennings is too but not nearly to the extent Finley is.

With the facts now laid out, I'd still rather keep Jennings over... (oops dropped my keyboard) ... I'd rather keep Jennings over ... (fuck, dropped it again!) ... one more time ... I'd rather keep Jennings over Finley if it came down to one or the other.

Finley's weak spot now is concentration on catching passes. When, err ... IF ... he gets that figured out he'll be a great asset to the Packers offense. I wish the Packers could have de-centives in his contract... $250,000 per drop he pays back.
