Packers won by 8 last year in their opener and lost by 8 in this years. The other opener scores for Aaron Rodgers were 5, 6 and 7 point victories.

The video fits on many levels.. dissing Rodgers.. dissing the Packers after one game.. and dissing the spelling of the OP. [grin1]

Still need a QB in today's NFL. The Niners don't have that. Alex Smith can't even tie Brad Johnson's shoes, and the Niners' D is not the Bucs' D or the Ravens' D of the early 2000s.

I don't underestimate the Niners. Believe me, I know them well. I live here.

I understand it's been mostly franchise QBs winning in the past several years, but that doesn't mean there cannot be an exception here and there, especially for a team that has a decent QB, and are great in every other aspect of the game. I usually agree with the "gotta have a QB sentiment," but if Smith continues to play like he did yesterday, they DO "have a QB." No doubt about that in my mind. He executed their game plan perfectly and provided the type of QB play it needed exactly. It was a brilliant game by the 49'ers. Rhetorically, every season is a clean slate, and so far, Alex Smith is looking sharp.

If Trent Dilfer can QB a Super Bowl win, so can Alex Smith.

Honestly, some of these again are a product of just being outmatched. We're not ready. I hope we get there mid-way through the season. I believe we do, but this team is very young and we have a couple scrubs out there right now.

Although, one freak field goal, and bad interception from Rodgers and we win the game. But that's spilled milk.

If there is anything like a good loss, this is it. Like how the Pack used to outmatch the 49ers in the late 90s. This current team has a new big bully in the NFC who can knock them out. Now, they gotta figure out how to hurt them back.

We will see them again...

Smith is certainly not elite, but he appears to finally be settling down after having how many offensive coordinators since 2005? Even if he hasn't improved (no indication of that so far this season), it is always possible for a defense and special teams to be "THAT" good to compensate. Again, it's not likely to happen often, but it's absolutely possible.

Smith plays within the offense that is in front of him.. he does what it takes to get his team to win more often than not with this coaching staff.

Even in the Championship game.. were people are knocking him.. he played big at times in the that game, especially with his feet.

People think I am kidding.. but I hate the QB position.

It is the albatross to the game of football. We so want to throw the roses around their neck and proclaim they are the victors of the game. That or tar and feather them for the loss.

When in reality they are just another player on a team.. and teams win games.

Smith played an A+ game yesterday... but because he didn't do it this way or that way he somehow isn't a worthy QB.

The 49ers played the game the way to maximize your chances to win the game.. through all facets of the game. Smith did his part.. made all the throws he needed to make.. read the mistakes on the defense and exploited them. A mistake is only noticed if it is exposed.

Match meet flame.

He happens to play in a balanced offensive attack.. and yes that makes him a better player. But isn't that what a coach and scheme are to do.. to put players in a position to succeed. To win.

Niners have built such a team.. we currently have work to do. Will we accomplish that? Don't know.. but Capers, Campen, MM, the players have some work to do if they wanna catch the Niners.

Niners offense > Packers offense 9/9/2012. Game on.

Let's see.......our run game was the same as last year, non-existant. 2 yards and a cloud of smoke won't win games. And Rodgers was WAY off on all of his deep passes. I hope he can get it together, as without out him being on top of his game, we lose, period.
And a few flashes on defense, and that was it. Too many missed tackles and giving up way too many easy passes to the niners.
If AR had the time and the cushion his WR's had (Smith) the game probably would have been different.

Add that to HORRIBLE officating, and i mean for BOTH sides, and it was a train wreck.
I hope they get the "real" refs back NOW. It was a joke.

Niners outclassed GB on the field in every way yesterday. They looked to be the tougher team, and they played like it. We looked soft and unprepared. We also looked like we did not have the talent to match up.

When will our OL be made to run block like professionals? I mean, if McCarthy wants a balanced attack, why doesn't he prepare his team for it? McCarthy's players did not seem up for the challenge. That is on him. As for McCarthy's players, well, they looked to be missing some. Alex Smith had all day, again. SF ran on us all day, at will, again. Those are on Ted Thompson. Where is the improvement?

You cannot fall in love with your guys at the expense of your team. FIVE fucking RBs?!!!!! Are you kidding me? Somehow, I think Gurley may have been able to block that 63 yd FG... but, we'll never know, because we have FIVE RBs!!!! Unbelievable.

You are right, the Packers didn't look prepared in any way. They got smacked in the mouth, and were beat in every way.
The niners played well, and the Packers didn't.
