While those are good points, they just are NOT overrated. They have one of the best front 7s in football. That just cannot be denied in my opinion.

I think 49ers get 8-10 wins this year, which is good. I don't think they're a Super Bowl contender like the Packers and Giants.

Well, I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see the Niners fold this year as frankly, Niner fans have been more annoying than even Cow fans recently. And you all know how much I hate Cow fans.

Willis may be the best MLB in the NFL. Bowman and Smith were also both All Pros, and they had 2 guys who also added 6 INTs each.

Now, their weakness - Alex Smith isn't that good. He got sacked 44 times (as opposed to the Niners sacking opponents 42 times) and it's not just because their OL isn't good. It's because Smith over thinks and has a slow release. IF our D can generate pressure, we'll topple the Niners badly.

The other thing, the Niners can be torched by solid 3rd and 4th WRs. This is why I think 🇲🇲 will call a lot of 4 WR sets. It's possible to hit Jones and Driver for first downs all day long.

Note that 🇲🇲 was stressing fast releases and had that clock that forced our QBs to get rid of the ball faster. I'm guessing that that was specifically for teams like the Niners and the Giants, both of whom we may face in the Playoffs.

I would love to see a Packers blowout. I know there are a few more people on this board who live in the SF area. I'm sure they can attest to how annoying Niner fans have become. I'd love to make them 😠 Sunday night at the bars.

I, too, think the 49'er's are a bit over rated. That's not to say they aren't good, but just as was the case with the Packer's last season, the record makes them look better than they really were. The addition of Moss doesn't change anything for me. If he was capable of making a substantial impact, he wouldn't have been out of work to begin with. Their defense is legit, which is why I say they are good. However, their offense doesn't scare me and I think teams such as the Saints, Patriots, Giants, Steeler's, Ravens, Packers, Texans, and possibly even the Falcons, Panthers, Bears, and MAYBE the Lions are better. I expect the Seahawks to push them hard this season as well, but that depends on them getting QB play at least to the level of Alex Smith.

As I said, I think they are good, not great. To be fair, though, they should have won the NFC Championship game. I'm still not a believer in Alex Smith, Crabtree, Moss, and approaching the same for Gore, at this point. The guy has been ran into the ground and if they stray from the run first approach even a little, I think it will hurt them overall. Manningham is an OK 3rd receiver, but nothing amazing. As others have said, 10 wins sounds reasonable, especially considering the borderline pathetic division they are in. But I do not expect them to be competing for a Super Bowl. They were over achievers last season, and I expect them to come back down to earth this season. At this point, I stand by my opinion, even if they beat the Packer's week one. All I'm worried about is the Packer's getting hot at the right time and making the playoffs. Honestly, I'm not so sure I care if they even have home field advantage throughout. Going to a dome might very well benefit the Packer's offense in several ways, although perhaps I'm very wrong.

Mucky Tundra (2h) : Rude!
beast (3h) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (7h) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (9h) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (11h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
