The kid has like, what... 22" hands???

[grin1]

I am SO bummed about Gurley. I thought his STs work was amazing and would keep him on the team. Hell, I would have kept him at least until Neal comes off suspension. Who knows what could happen to our WR corp through 4 weeks? I don't like it.

If I am the Packers and keeping one of the three.. (Gurley, Borel or Boykins) it comes down to the role they want them to fill.

If they are looking for another returner in addition to WR.. it is Borel.

If they are looking for an all around special teams in addition to WR.. it is Gurley.

If it is based just on WR.. I think the best most consistent choice is Boykins. He is a slightly smaller Gurley.

Borel has this extra shake that maybe only Driver has to him.. but is that enough.

I don't think Boykins slides through to the PS. Actually I can't see any of them sneaking through to the PS of the three.

I think they go six.

Jennings, Nelson, Jones, Driver, Cobb, Boykins.

I think they keep Jones to ensure they have enough talent at WR.. it is our bread and butter. Not to mention his relationships with Jennings and Rodgers. My Guess.

I just hate the thought of some of those good hard working players getting claimed by the viklings with their high waiver claim position.

It would be a shame to see good men get infected by purple slime and ruined forever.

Packers WR depth chart: Jennings - Nelson - Jones - Driver - Cobb - Boykin

not sure how he knows boykin won't be informed soon he is cut as well?

edit2:

#Packers TE Brandon Bostick has been released, per a source.

The #Packers have notified undrafted OL Don Barclay that he has made the team.

#Packers WR Shaky Smithson has been waived from injured reserve with an injury settlement, according to a league source.

Not sold... but we had to find another Olineman to bridge the gap to Sherrod getting healthy.. so apparently that is the bridge and we will see how the season shakes out.

One of the articles I read said, "based on the early cuts, it looks like the packers will be shopping for an olineman."

I'm somewhat surprised Wells didn't make the roster. He seems to be about as good of a veteran backup offensive linemen that the Packer's would find, at this point. Otherwise, they might be able to find an inexperienced young guy with potential, at best, which they will likely have one or two of on the practice squad as is. He didn't look great, but he didn't have much time to do so, either.

#Packers have waived CB/KR Otis Merrill, another guy who has been told to stick around for possible practice squad.

Rob Demovsky ‏@RobDemovsky

Hearing there's a strong chance #Packers LB Terrell Manning will stick despite a slow start to camp for the D5.

No word yet on #Packers OT Don Barclay. May depend on whether they pick someone up on waivers. Not a lock for 53-man roster yet.

Don't think Wells was a good fit for our system. Liked what little I saw of Barclay better.

Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
