According to the Packers writers (via twitter)

OL Barclay has been told they're keeping him.

WR Boykins hasn't heard "anything from anybody" so no news yet other than he hasn't been told anything yet.

LB Manning. Rob Demovsky is "Hearing there's a strong chance #Packers LB Terrell Manning will stick"

S Richardson made the team according to college (and pro) teammate Hayward.

According to the Packers writers (via twitter) players are being cut. So far they're naming

C Genus
S Levine
C Draheim
T Datko
TE Bostick
OG Wells
WR Gurley
WR Borel
FB Cooper
OG Van Roten
OT Allard
WR Moss
DE Guy
WR Smithson (from the IR)
WR Gilleylen
C Draheim
RB Marc Tyler
DT Muir (probably means good things for Merling, Muir couldn't handle double teams)

CB/KR Merrill (they didn't say Merill was cut, but they said he was told to stick around for possible PS, which you can't get to the PS with out being cut so I'm making an assumption he was cut)

Articles that are being updated to announce the cuts are

Really surprised at the Gurley cut...had high hopes for him making the team this year.

Wonder why Datko was cut...

So far, only Levine is mildly surprising.. but with Richardson and McMillian I can see him being the odd man out.

I think he will latch on elsewhere.

I expected Brad Jones to be cut in the first wave..

Levine was looking really good. But, I'm glad for Richardson, who I think has a bit more potential. With any luck Levine sticks on our PS.

I don't see Gurley mentioned anywhere as being cut.

That far down the roster it is not that big a gamble.

I think the writers are reporting them as they get them, and they're not getting them from the packers but from the agents and others... so they might not be reported in waves that they were cut in, but how fast the agents leak it/how well the writers know the agents and call them.

One thing I'm a bit worried about is what is the game plan with back-up ILB. On my mock roster I didn't think the position deserved 5 spots (Hawk and Smith getting 2) but there is Lattimore is probably next but has an ankle injury, Francois who is solid as ILB and looked special in one game on special teams next but has a hamstring injury. If healthy I think those would be the four...

After that is rookie Manning who flashes some potential but also looks lost/easy to block at times and I'd like to sneak to the PS, and I think it'd be easier to sneak a guy to PS now than a week from now because there is an overload of players being cut from all teams.

And then Jones, who hasn't look great but he knows the system and is healthy. (and with Walden on the Suspension list for a week, might hold Walden spot for a week)

Well, here that is:

Rob Demovsky ‏@RobDemovsky
Source confirmed the Packers have indeed waived WR Tori Gurley.

Really surprising. I am kind of shocked that this was done so early, with no work on a trade. Makes little sense to me.

RD also reporting via Twitter Moss and Guy have been waived.

Good thread. A little surprised on Levine but Richardson has a lot of potential, so I am excited about that for sure.

beast (18h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
