In any case, our best tight end (in my opinion) will be on IR to start the season. When he comes back, we have the complete offense back.

And when you look at plays like that fake punt, sneaking in Flynn as a blocker to pass to a wide open Quarless only for Quarless to sight of the ball in the air, adjust, trip himself up and fall down... I've been wondering if his struggles to find the ball in the air might have to do with his vision and wonder if he needs contact lenses or something.

Finley drives me nuts. The guy needs to shut up and produce. Let his play do the talking.

Apparently D.J. Williams is really coming along. The Packers have Andrew Quarless, who if he can recover could be good. And since Jermichael Finley is locked up this season and next, I wonder if we see Finley traded this coming draft day to free up something like ~$7 million. :)

He IS producing and he's not saying anything dastardly wrong. I think some of us just need to lighten up and look at things in perspective in regard to Finley.

He has a million reasons to want the ball. I do not blame him a bit for wanting the ball. I would love to see him rock the world this year and earn his incentives, but do it with your mouth shut please Mr.Finley.

2/22/2012: Signed a two-year, $14 million contract. The deal included a $1 million signing bonus. Another $1 million is available through incentives. Finley is eligible for $300,000 offseason workout bonuses in each season. 2012: $950,000 (+ $3.5 million roster bonus), 2013: $4.45 million (+ $3.5 million roster bonus due in March), 2014: Free Agent.

However... I may be wrong and often am, but... I can not remember the last time there was a "traditional" trade in the NFL. By traditional, I mean "In season, quality STARTER for quality STARTER both under contract for at least two years."

I see this in the NHL and MLB but not in the NFL.

Am I wrong on this??? I just can not remember one.

Second, Players and Coaches don't mind Finley's comments, why do we degrade his production because of it? Really makes you wonder.

The Patriots had one TE who smoked Finley and he smoked EVERYONE in the league, so that statement really holds water like a funnel.

Unless of course, you think 24 more receptions, 250 more yards and one less touchdown while also racking up several yards less per reception constitutes being "smoked".

If you're wondering, I'd rather have had Aaron Hernandez than Jermichael Finley. I think he's a better blocker and signed for less. 🙂

Also I don't follow the Patriots but I remember a lot more plays where Aaron Hernandez was wide like a WR than in like a TE.

"The only blemish on Finley's record was 13 drops, an extraordinarily high total for someone who had barely dropped a half dozen the three previous years."

I put that there for those who think Jermichael Finley's 2011 season was the normal in the drops department. Oh no, facts hurt!
