The second half began, I came out looking for the Pack to be ready to go. Three straight pass attempts and then a punt. Where is the run game Mr. McCarthy? A good DRIVE would have done wonders. That was when I was probably most frustrated, what was the moment yesterday that frustrated you the most?

So you want them to run the ball I take it?

My WTF moment.. time after time watching Hawk sit on his heels and not engage.. your 250 and have leverage.. what in the hell are you waiting for.. damn. Like he was struggling reading the play.. pump a little more oxygen into that chamber.

Pickett and Jolly weren't getting any push.. but at least they were tying up two guys for short periods.. watch Bishop on that one play.. he played off Jolly's gobble and made a big stick in the backfield.. something we haven't seen much of.

But I agree.. there are times where the play calling was suspect... but I think MM seen what most seen.. that we had guys open in that first and Rodgers was just slightly off with the throws.. I think that maybe played into his thinking.. come out and strike on them through the air.. fast.

When you have the talent we have a WR.. it is tempting.. add to it our line is a better pass blocking unit than power running.. but it is frustrating no doubt.

Every time they come out of the huddle I find myself mumbling: "Run the ball, run the ball, run the ball..."

So do I. Aaron Rodgers is the highest-rated quarterback in the league on play action, but play action only works when you have a running game worth respecting. We don't need to pass so much early in each half -- or for, that matter, on our final drives of games. A key element in each of our last few losses has been returning the ball back to the opponent with too much time remaining on the clock. If we'd grind it down under a minute before punching it into the endzone, our chances of winning would increase exponentially.

Agreed.. but I put that on the coaching staff.. yesterday we have two players playing our of position.. if they were so freaking stubborn they would have twisted them back.. been more effective in the run defense and put them in longer thirds where we would have been in nickel or dime.

Watch the way they were running.. for the most part where Bishop was not.

But agreed.. he simply doesn't have the foot speed to cover man to man at this point.. drop into zone backer at best. But the kid is a thumper in the run defense..

You know.. good coaches adjust their 11 to fit situations.. IE.. put the Physical Rouse in for Bishop on those run/pass options..

oh i agree... its coaching when you consistently watch a player get attacked and you don't respond accordingly. Just like last year in the NFC championship game with Al. Bishop was getting stomped and its his fault... but at some point the DC or HC has to say... get him out hes a liability and make something else work. I am not one to call for firings, but Sanders regardless of injuries doesn't seem like hes able to keep up. I hope he doesn't get fired and comes back next year and makes me eat my words.... I am just losing faith every week watching this defense consistently get eaten alive. Passing one week, running the next.

I think Ted needs to get on his jet and fly to Blacksburg and hire Bud Foster away from Virginia Tech. That man has his defense ready to play every day, and is one of the best at making adjustments. I know its college ball but I think he could make the transition. and boy if you wanted fire from the coaching staff... you would get it with Foster. New looks and thinking on defense would be a welcome change at this point.

Want a name that may be interesting after the season.. Wade Phillips.

Straight shooter.. very sound DC.. and I think he will be looking for work come Feb.

He is a 3-4 coach.. which is a little different roster wise and has natural liabilities within the scheme.. but we have to retool the roster at this point anyway..

I don't think there is anyway Wade survives the offseason...

He would bring a good measure of experience and seems like a natural fit in terms of blending into this coaching staff.

There.. completely off topic.

Back to the running game.. doesn't that speak volumes about MM makeup though.. he is a QB coach, do you really expect him to be patient with the run?

Your last sentence is why I think that we need a bonafide offensive coordinator that calls the plays.
McCarthys playcalling is suspect as he appears to get locked in to playing to the QB and damn the balanced attack.
