I dont dispute that he likely still is a little bitter, I'm just saying I don't feel this particular remark speaks to that. I'm nitpicking, but I bring it up because it seems every comment is blown out of proportion these days...we saw what CM3 started with his comments about the giants' game (granted, what he said was dumb and warranted a rebutal).

Similarly, I think that ARod still does have a chip on his shoulder, although it may not be as big of one as some writers would like. This is journalism today, you take a pedestrian story or concept and spruce it up as much as possible.

You don't know Aaron Rodgers too well if you think he is not still carrying that grudge, lol. He's pretty open about it. He also holds a grudge against the ESPN person who said Aaron Rodgers wouldn't amount to much.

Thankfully, Aaron Rodgers never read my words when out of college I said he'd be the QB that won't lose you the game, but also wouldn't win you the game either. [aiee]

I remember watching that draft. Rodgers was supposed to be the #1 pick, and as he fell it seemed he was going to drop to the second round. He looked as if he were going to cry when they took him off the stage around the 20th pick. I really wanted the Pack to select Login Mankins to protect Brett Favre with the pick.

I remember when the Pack went on the clock Chris Berman shouting, c'mon Packers, pick Rodgers, select the replacement for #4.

I hated the way Rodgers held the ball by his ear in his throwing motion when he came out of college. I did not like the selection, and barked at Ted Thompson for passing a great Offensive lineman to block for Brett.

Have to admit it, was not on the Aaron Rodgers bandwagon until the Playoff game vs ATL. Falcons. That game Rodgers outplayed any Packer I have ever seen including Brett Favre.

Bottom line, IMO, Rodgers will go down as the best Packer ever.I think he is simply a smarter football player than Brett was, he will win more MVP's, Superbowls, and break many of Favre's records.

I don't think Aaron Rodgers will break many of Brett Favre's records. The all time records (completions, attempts, yards, touchdowns, wins, interceptions) won't be touched by Rodgers. Rodgers will dominate in efficiency records such as completion percentage and quarterback rating. Rodgers has said he has no desire to be playing while 37 years old.

If Aaron Rodgers continues playing at his career average, he'll need these amount of games to pass Brett Favre.

Completions: 246 games
Attempts: 237 games
Yards: 217 games
Touchdowns: 197 games
Interceptions: 543 games

When Ted Thompson picked Rodgers at, I believe 24th, I was giddy. Obviously it wasn't going to help immediately but to get a player of that quality, at that pick, was extremely fortunate. It also showed we had a general manager that not only preached BPA, but practiced it. I'm a firm believer in BPA, especially now with free agency. In addition, Brett was not spring chicken anymore so we were going to need a QB in the not to distant future and he would have time to "season" on the bench. Of course, there were no quarantees, but I think it's working out OK.

As has been stated, barring something unforeseen or another round of retirement hoopla, ARod will go down as the best QB in Packer history, while Favre will still retain all the records, and Bart Starr will be remembered for having the best name and leading a dynasty. Kind of a win-win so all three will be remembered in unique ways for their greatness.

I won't say Aaron Rodgers won't go down as the greatest QB in history, I just trust his word on not playing to or past age 37, of which he'd have to do to break a lot of those all time records, lol.

I do think he'll blow Favre away (and most others) in efficiency stats.

Aren't we lucky that that was the one year in the draft that the 2nd QB wasn't drafted until 24? It seems most years the top 3-4 QB's are gone by 15.

For fun here's a breakdown though, years since Rodgers was picked, counting only QBs that were drafted before #24.
2006: 3, Young, Leinart, Cutler
2007: 2, Russel and Quinn, what a terrible year for QB's
2008: 2, Ryan, Flacco
2009: 3, Stafford, Sanchez, Freeman
2010: 1, Bradford. Tebow goes 25, off year for high pick QBs
2011: 3, Newton, Locker, Ponder. Dalton at 36 is probably a steal.
2012: 4, Luck, RGIII, Tannehill, Weeden
