Snip the rest of my thoughts.. cutting to the chase..

I guess my point is this.. if you want to excel and are willing to do the work to get there.. you are going to excel.

Being drafted 23 spots later in a draft, to me, isn't that big of deal as I would not allow that define me. The desire to be great and win every time I can.. game or even single plays.. that is going to define me. The draft position is just an ego stroke.

Hence I don't understand the chip.. in this game.. in this life.. few have anything handed to them. Being drafted 24th was just another step along the way.

Now.. being pissed at particular people that said they were going to draft you but didn't.. that I can understand. Or the loss of money when looking at the big picture.. that I can understand.. 23 spots in the draft difference that is.

At the end of the day... I don't believe the draft slight is what defines him anyway..

Greatness is what drives him...

“They say it takes two to three years to really get the West Coast offense down. I think that's the reason why a lot of top picks struggle early on - because they don't have the guys around them and the offenses they're running are pretty complex. Obviously Alex is in a situation where they'd like him to play right away, which puts a little more pressure on him. At the same time, I put pressure on myself to be great every day in practice and in the games, and I will be. It's just going to take a little bit.” ~ Aaron Rodgers

Confidence and the desire to be great does... chip or no chip. Not to mention a ton of god given talent mixed it.

Anyhow, absolutely agree that the "Chip on his shoulder" thing is overstated for the sake of drama. He has mad work ethic, natural talent, and fell into a perfect situation at the perfect time.

Don't mean to change the subject, but funny Pack93z brings up James Lofton. Yes, he was my favorite player all-time. Until of course Favre came along. Now I'm without a favorite player all-time, but that's probably a good thing. It sucks to be attached to one player; especially when that one player leaves.

But we had some talent back then... just we a poor team.

I disagree. In fact, he isn't inducted, you can check the records for yourself. I don't agree with awarding people awards until they actually have you know ... been awarded them. It's the same crap lazy journalists do. It's something so easy, takes no effort.

Now, Barry Sanders, he IS a hall of famer! :)

And it wasn't lazy way out.. it is a matter that I consider him a HOF caliber player.. that said.. yes I should have labeled it a future HOF player. Happy now?

The great ones always look for an edge to motivate themselves to dominate others.

Take Michael Jordan for example. He always looked for some slight, or something to dominate.

Aaron does the same thing and he also was a fan of Jordan. No coincidence.

They're like two peas in a pod(sans the womanizing, philandering, gambling, and horrible personality of Jordan).
