I have a question for you computer people. I've been using my Safari as my primary web browser for some time now (currently 5.1.7, with OS 10.6.8). Recently, though, I'm virtually guaranteed of getting the "spinning pizza" at some point if I'm browsing with multiple tabs/windows open at once, and I have to Force Quit. And once this happens in a session, it'll happen again, about every fifth or sixth window I open. I've tried emptying the safari cache, reseting safari completely, restarting, shutting down the machine and restarting, even deleting Safari and reinstalling it. Using Activity Monitor doesn't show memory (4 gigs) anything approaching full.
Yes, I know I can switch to Firefox, Chrome, or whatever, but what can I say? I sorta like Safari.
Other information: MacBookPro (c. 2008/9, the last unibody model with a user-replaceable battery), 2.93 GHz Intel dual-core, 256G SSD with about 60 gigs available.
Any suggestions as to what might be causing the "not responding" spinning pizza?
Thanks.
