I expected more actually. With the quotes of him going off the field celebrating that he knocked Favre out of the game.

Part of the severity is that he was obstructing the investigation. I don't see any reductions for this.

My guess is that they'll have a roster exemption for those 8 weeks. And everyone but Vilma is allowed to participate in offseason stuff. So I wouldn't cut him before week 9 -- if you cut him and only re-signed him then, my guess that is when the 8 week suspension starts.

Green Bay Packers DE Anthony Hargrove will be able to participate in offseason workouts, training camp and preseason games before his eight-game suspension begins.

Unlike many, I was expecting Hargrove to be suspended. But I was expecting 2-4 games.

Goodell ain't got a small hammer these days.

I wonder why nothing happened to the rest of the "22-27 involved players" (the number that got quoted over and over).

I knew he was gonna get a punishment when Goodell cited Peyton lied and tried to cover things up as a reason for the extra hard punishment.

Reportedly the reason the other players weren't punished is because the NFL doesn't have anything citing they promoted the program nor took part in it. Where they feel they have proof these players have.

Though I have to admit it is disappointing that only two players currently on the Saints got in trouble IF they were doing this as a program as a whole defense.

But I agree with the other part... the Packers can keep him until week 9... and then choose what they want to do with him. If they keep him, they'll have to find a spot for him... but if someone gets badly injured they could just put that player on the IR and have Hargrove fill the spot. Or they could cut a player that isn't living up to his spot. Or just cut Hargrove... he signed a one year deal so he might not be back after this season, where other guys might longer contracts.

After what we took in the draft, I could care less what we do with this guy.

Well the good news is that both our games against the Sperm helmets are in the second half of the season. Anthony will be fresh, and we already know he hates the color purple.

I hoped the fine would be 3-4 games but expected more. Outside of Federal court (He should file in Minny, they a sniveling wimps when it comes to the little man's rights vs the big back corporation up there.) he has no chance for a reduction with Goodell doing the appeal work for his own punishment.
