Packers are releasing OT Chad Clifton today. Failed a physical. Had back surgery in the off-season. Uncertain whether he will play again.

Yeah Since69, Clifton was a consumate pro - all the way. I am so glad he got a ring! I would have loved to have seen him on the same line with Saturday, but he has been around a very long time, and his play has dipped a bit the last year or so. All those injuries may have caught up to the big fella. I wish him well.

This was a good resigning by Ted a couple years ago, despite last season. He was a key part in the 2010 Super Bowl run.

I feel like a prick, cuz I think this is good news. I really liked Chad Clifton, just feel it's time to usher in the new Left Tackle. Plus, the money (~$5.75 million) will go to help resign some core players.

The Packers have two possible replacements on their roster, Marshall Newhouse and Derek Sherrod (who may not be ready for Week 1 because of the broken leg he sustained last season).

Looks like tentatively its Bulaga/Newhouse as the starters in some form, unless they get another early round OT.

Newhouse at LT is an AWFUL idea... why would we make that mistake twice?

also, does this make Driver the last of the pre-TT era?
