I can't say I'm excited about anyone really. Obviously, Free Agency isn't over and the draft is yet to take place.

Pickett was one of the NFL's top DTs when we got him. While his age is getting up there, he is still a good veteran player. Raji is a much better player than he showed last season, IMO. He was over utilized. Too many snaps for the big fella. Hargrove may in fact be a gem. While it is early, I like what players and coaches from other teams have had to say about him. He improves this group. Muir, looks to be a serviceable guy in rotation behind Pickett.

The rest really are uninspiring. I'm guessing we add 2 - 4 players to this group. DE (2), NT and DT. This is a top priority on our team to upgrade, along with OLB. I'll be thrilled if we can replace Guy, Neal, Wilson, Wynn and Jones with better talent.

I'm guessing 🇹🇹 goes BPA between DL and OLB for his first pick. Our DL right now was the weak spot of the team. Its ineptitude is what killed our D.

I hate to say this, but Raji may be one of the most overrated D players in the NFL today. No way he deserved the Pro Bowl nod. Pickett's age seems like it's creeping up. Those two are so much above everyone else we currently got that I'm not gonna even waste any more typing.

Beyond Pickett and Raji we don't have a D-line. Must be why we had two man fronts many times last year.

I'm hoping Guy develops this year. Probably the reason I have high hopes for him is that he played really well against Wisconsin a couple of years ago. I hate to say it but with Jenkins and Jolly gone that's a pretty sorry looking group outside of Raji and Pickett.

One thing I think many are failing to account for upon the 2nd & 3rd year players is that last off season was a total loss on any development. The lockout impacted last years rookies some, but I think it was a critical loss for players coming out of their 1st pro year.

Guys like Wilson and yes Neal both didn't have the benefit of working in the off season with the coaching staff and being pushed by the training staff.

My point here is simple, lets not completely write off these players at this point.

And why value either Muir or Hargrove?

Muir was a player that would have stuck with the Packers if at that point we didn't have a excess of DT at the time. He was then snapped up and played a considerable amount for the Colts. Should we expect a stout pass rush from him.. probably not, but from memory he has a decent burst and could play an important role.. rotation.

Hargrove, IMO, will do one thing here in GB.. he will be brought in to play DE on passing situations to provide push.. if nothing else to make the opposition at least respect if in the blocking scheme. Last season, the opposition could plan for single blocking our ends and allow more to be pushed out to the edge. If he can at least force the opposition second level of protection to at least look his way it will be an improvement over last season.

It might not be popular, but IMO, if your downs in a 3-4 can provide a push, it expands the DC ability to call "effective" blitz calls from a number of holes not just the edge.. basically pushes the protection into mistakes.

Zero2Cool (16h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (19h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (19h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (21h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (21h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (21h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (21h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (21h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (21h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (21h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (21h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (21h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (21h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (21h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (21h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (23h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (23h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (23h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
