Daniel Snyder is the kind of poker player I would love to be sitting across from at the casino. He thinks his loose, aggressive style intimidates the other players at the table, and his wild bets are certainly crowd pleasers when they pay off, but more often than not he goes home busted at the end of the day, while the more sensible players are counting the cash in their fatter wallets.

I don't think Snyder is motivated by winning football games, whatever his PR department is told to say. He's motivated by being a mega-gazillionaire with power to make big decisions and be an "Important public figure". Free agency money is petty cash to him. The Redskins are the way he makes it rain.

My guess is that if he's at the poker table, he's there to win, period. And I'd never bet against a gazillionaire when they're out to win a card game.

Not unless they were falling down drunk and their handlers were too stupid to get them away from silly bets.
