I'm not a fan of all the stuff immigrants get for "free" upon moving here. But I"m not a fan of anyone getting what a lot of Americans think *they* are entitled to. I don't believe the quality of one's life should be determined by the accident of which geographical location you happen to be born in. The problem is not that we let illegals get all those social services. The problem is that we believe anyone is entitled to those social services.
Nor do I believe that the accident of geographical birth gives the kind of right to exclude that American immigration laws purport to give. That right to exclude exists simply because "we" have the power and those we wish to exclude do not. Not because we have some morally superior right to possession.
And, finally, though least importantly, if we are truly the great country we claim to be, if we are truly the productive society we claim to be, we have no need to exclude people who talk different or"protect" ourselves against illegal immigrants.
Border control should be designed to keep drug dealers, terrorists, carriers of highly contagious disesaes, etc. out. Nothing else.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
