They already drafted that last year in Davon House, but they could add another one because Bush and Lee are probably gone.

Do you really think Wood has enough pop in him to play safety full time? I wouldn't mind bringing in a veeteran not named Charlie Peprah.

Frankly, the position is about finding smart instinctive players or guys with insane measurables.

I'm not saying Woodson can't play safety, but safety need to be enforcers just as much as being cerebral. We will see how it plays out, but we will need a developmental 4th safety drafted this year.

Still, barring stenosis or other complications, I don't see why Collins would have a greater injury risk than he previously had. Man, Collins and Burnett as a S tandem would be UNREAL. LOL. No one would be able to throw against us consistently.

If Collins and his doctors say he is able to play this season, he should be put on PUP and given every chance to come back. It's his decision to make. Of course the Packers don't have to allow him but if he's determined they should give him every opportunity to do so. Heck, maybe even IR him for the entire season and give it a shot the following season if he's truly determined to return. I could see a potentially salary cap issue there, but maybe not without certain incentives and such.

If the doctors clear Nick Collins to play and the Packers don't, the Packers hold the cards, contract wise.
2012: $3.45 million
2013: $4.35 million
2014: Free Agent

Of course, he could always be traded as we've seen that happen before.

The more I read about the surgery Nick Collins had and how his recovery is going ... the more I believe he will play again for the Packers. But, barring a doctor saying "Mr. Collins, you are no more at risk now than you were this time a year ago if you continue in the NFL" ... if a doctor (or two or three) doesn't say this ... I hope to never see Nick Collins on the field in uniform again.

I've been up front about this since the day he was carted off the field, I don't want to see Nick on a football field in pads ever again.

And if you can't shake that football itch.. coach and teach the game at some level.

Nick Collins has said he'd like to get into coaching after his NFL career is done. I think that's the path he should take.

I don't think wanting Nick Collins back is foolish.

Risk this. Risk that.

Whatever.

This is professional football folks. You can die at any given play.
