I believe the last carry-overs from the pre-Ted Thompson era are listed below and it could be the end of said era.

WR Donald Driver D7b
T Chad Clifton D2
C Scott Wells D7 (FA-04)

I think Chad Clifton is gone, for sure.
I think Donald Driver stays one more year.
I KNOW Scott Wells is going to be resigned.

If we lose Gurley because DD needs to play one more year for God knows why, I'm going to be a pissed off German boy.

And how do you know Wells is getting resigned? Are you Joe Arrigo all of a sudden?

Chad retires. Double D is 50-50. I will lean towards him taking a cut and returning. Wells comes back. take it to the bank.

Wells has been solid on the o-line. No reason to get rid of him.

I just don't think DD makes it back this year. It's a win-win either way imo. Not like we have to take someone who totally sucks.

In my opinion, it is retarded to hang on to marginal veterans so they can have one more shot at glory. Clifton and DD can both be gone and we'll use the cap room for younger players. I have nothing against DD and Clifton, they have been warriors for the Packers and each has a place in our hall of fame.

Gurley gives us a 6'5" receiver dimension for jump balls that this offense hasn't had since Javon Walker. He does not get on the roster without losing Driver. The other things driver does gets picked up by Jones and Cobb.

That said if they do plan to release him it may be best for him to have the Packers do so early so he has more time to sign with a new team.
