It is starting to show that people are focusing more on today's team than yesterdays.. even though we dregged up the past several times in the string.. more so, we were looking tangibly at the team and situations themselves...

I want to seriously see where we are at as far as a fan base and forum.. so I had to play a role a bit different.

Gives me hope.

The holy war part.. I thought it was just you and I that were going to go at it.. lol.

I too was happy to see how even-keeled this thread was (even though I took a shot at #4)

I really like what we have going forward with our new QB. Will he come up with the game winning drive this season, he's gonna have to if we are to win out.

If we were to make it to the playoffs I don't see some miracle finish like the 07 Giants and if they were to get there and be one and done I wouldn't be terribly shocked (same goes for any of the North teams, Williams Wall or not).

I've already resigned myself to the fact that this is a learning year for Rodgers, pure and simple. But I've also come away from this season (so far) with a respect for Aaron that was what I was hoping for. He handled himself well during the circus of an off season, He battled through a painful injury to his throwing arm and kept us in some games that we had no business being in.

The future looks bright!

(now if Ted Thompson just gets us a couple good FA's on the O and D lines!)

Rodgers sucks...

No Tedford project ever made it in the NFL...
Ted Thompson must go!

kk Roddyboy should be banned. For sure the guy is a troll.

2nd. Rodgers can only do so much. It's one thing to give us the lead, but we are also asking him to score on every possession. Favre wasn't such a clutch performer in 04 or 05 or 06 when he had to face the same issues.

It's simple, he's had 4 chances, and he didn't come through in any of them. IF he gets even two of those, we're 7-5 and in the lead for the division. Your missing the whole point because of your blind hatred for Favre. Why the obsession with Favre? What does that have to do with anything?

"longtimefan" wrote:

one chance was not met by his kicker...If his kicker did what Brett Favre kicker did that would be a 6-6 record right now..

before I am blasted...

He could have done more, but he did just enough for the Pack to win...

scoring over 28 points 2 weeks in a row and the Pack lose? Thats not his fault

"RedSoxExcel" wrote:

LTfan, you and I will never see eye to eye on anything, so there is no point. But I really don't get why everytime anyone says anytime anything negative is said about Rodgers it turns into a defense of "he's not the reason we lost".

That isn't what I'm saying. That Rodgers is the sole reason we lost. Thats the fundamental problem. Everytime anyone says "Rodgers threw a bad INT". Response = "He wasn't the reason we lost! It's the defense!".

Thats not what I'm saying. All I'm saying is that its his first season as a starter, thus far IMO he hasn't come through. It will come in time I assume. Thats my opinion and I'm sure a lot of people have that opinion.

And yes call me bias or whatever you want. 34 yarder v. 52 yarder, I think there is a difference. But I still don't understand why Favre was even brought up here in the first place. He has nothing to do with anything. So what some people think that Rodgers hasn't done well in some close games, why does it affect people so much.

No one is blaming this season on Rodgers but he its his first year, relax, it will probably come with time.

#2 I'm not going to go back in history but I'll just go back back two weeks ago. Favre leads Jets to TD. Pats tie it. Favre leads the Jets to a game winning FG in OT.

So we have a q/b that puts the kicker in a spot to make a fg and kicker fails, so its all on Aaron Rodgers?? (** please do not bring crap about Aaron Rodgers didnt get them closer**)

Brett Favre gets his kicker for a chance to make a fg, kicker makes it and its all Brett Favre??

Perfect example of double standard

Rodgers has faltered a few times at the end of games, but I have little doubt that he will begin notching up some last-minute victories, probably sooner rather than later. I remember Favre going through some fairly long droughts where he did not have any fourth quarter comeback wins. As I recall, those droughts occurred when the defense and special teams were lousy. Coincidence? I think not.

By the way, it's "brass tacks," not "brass tacts." I hate to be the language police, but I couldn't let that one go.

What are you talking about? Seriously, I don't understand what that Eagles game has to do with anything. I was talking about the Pats game. And yes I think Favre was a big reason that the Jets beat the Pats that game which is why I brought it up.

If you think getting the ball at like 43 and then moving the team into a 52 yard FG is clutch, your nuts. Yeah you can say the playcalling or whatever, thats a valid point. But to bring that up as somekind of proof of anything, I'm not buying it, sorry. I think your grasping at straws.

Once again, its not a big deal, its his first year as a starter, it will probably come with time and experience. He has some problems at this point in his career, its normal, just admit them.

Philly game Mason kicks a 53 yard FG and Pack win

We see here and other places where people say Brett got them to 14-4..That would include the Philly game right?

so why does Brett get credit for a win vs Philly last year, cuz his kicker made a 53 yrd fg..

Then when Mason misses a 53 yarder that has the team lose, we are told AR didn't get them close enuff...

you know damn well if Mason misses that 53 yard vs Philly..No one would say Brett didn't put them on his back to get the win..

Double standard..

I am not arguing that AR has done perfect..I think he still has to prove to me he can will this team to win...

But dont pass off a made 53 yard fg that ends up haing the Pack win and say Brett got that win...and in same breath say AR didnt get us close enuff so Mason had a better shot
