Going back on topic, I said before last year's SB win that we're entering a dynasty. For the record, the dynasties since the 60s are the Packers in the 60s with 5 Championships, 2 SBs; the Steelers of the 70s with 4 SBs, the Niners of the 80s with 4 SBs, the Cows of the 90s with 3 SBs, and the Pats of the 00s with 3 SBs.
It is now the 10s. We won a SB in 2010.
Let's look at some other dynasties. How about the Niners of the 80s, the last team to win 4 SBs in a decade.
1980 - 6-10, miss Playoffs
1981 - 13-3, win the SB
1982 - 3-6, miss Playoffs
1983 - 10-6, knocked out in the CG
1984 - 15-1, win SB
1985 - 10-6, one and done
1986 - 10-5-1, one and done
1987 - 13-2, one and done
1988 - 10-6, win SB
1989 - 14-2, win SB
So there ya go. It wasn't every year they won the SB. It wasn't even every year they had a winning record.
Now let's look at us in the 10s:
2010 - 10-6, win SB
2011 - 15-1, one and done
Looks like we're keeping pace with the 80s Niners. Eat your heart out, Vikesrule. [boxing]
