Well it looks like there are enough signatures to start the recall of the governor. So will Wisconsin really go through with this. I like the swing states in this country cause you guys hold the course of the whole nation in your hands. It's tought to get a real read on how all of this labor issue plays out, so what are boys in Wisconsin hearing?

I think people in Wisconsin are idiots. They wanted no increased taxes, but the deficit eliminated and wanted more jobs. That's what we all want, right? It's like the Wisconsin people said they wanted an omelet and then got all pissy when they saw eggs being broken. And also feel the spending should be controlled better, but then bitched about cuts. Really people? If you don't want increased taxes you need to allocate money elsewhere!

A bunch of fucktards if you ask me.

I am no Scott Walker fan, but I think the most satisfying possible outcome after all the handwringing on both sides of the aisle would be for Scott Walker to win reelection. It brings me no little amusement to know the Democrats still don't even have a clear idea of who they want to be their candidate in the upcoming election.

I'd laugh about Wisconsin idiocies...

...but then I remind myself that Iowa elects people like Tom Harkin and Terry Branstad over and over again.

Guys. You all have nothing on California. We elect freaking actors as Governors and complete morons as Senators. Our state is a joke. We literally had to pay state employees with IOUs (not making this up) and there were signs on some banks that said that they weren't accepting IOUs.

It's a rare day I agree with Bill Maher, but he hit this ball out of the park.

The citizens of Wisconsin are granted the authority to perform a recall election by Section 12 of Article XIII of the Wisconsin Constitution.

Wisconsin’s recall law exists to assure the consent of the governed

“The principle underlying the recall of public officers has been defined as an effective speedy remedy to remove an official who is not giving satisfaction to the public and whom the electors do not want to remain in office, regardless of whether he is discharging his full duty to the best of his ability and as his conscience dictates.”

At a recent gathering, Sen. Mark Miller reminded me of the power Wisconsin’s constitution gives the people.
He said, “We govern with the consent of the governed. And they have the right to withdraw their consent.”

Alas, the existence of a right says nothing about the intelligence or wisdom of those exercising it.

dfosterf (21h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (21h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (21h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (22h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (22h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent

dfosterf (22h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (22h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
