I prefer knowing the truth.

I don't a storyteller when he admits he's spinning tales and isn't trying to impress me with his supposed heroism.

I really love those old guys who wear the Vietnam War Vet baseball hats but when you ask them where they served, they admit they never even left the States. Talk about resting on other guys' laurels.

You are right, the truth is good, but when it comes to war activities, we'll never have the truth, regardless of what 60 second clip on YouTube shows...its not the whole truth.

I don't find war entertaining, I guess. I couldn't even watch fireworks for several years after I got back from Iraq. I couldn't understand how people were using explosions for entertainment. Explosions kill people. They blow people to bits. They leave people maimed for life. I'm mostly over that now, but I will never get the rabid satisfaction people take in fucking up other people.

You have to remember I'm a medic. I'm a lifesaver not just by trade but at heart. I would anything in my power to save another human's life, no matter how much I might hate him personally. It used to make me grind my teeth when we as medics were told to do always ensure we were personally safe before taking action to help the guys who were down. I knew it was the sensible thing to do, but I felt like I couldn't have forgiven myself if a man had died because I had been keeping myself safe.

The happiest moments of my career were when I found out that patients I thought were going to die had pulled through. The saddest moments were when I actually lost them. Some of those guys were U.S. servicemembers. Some of them known terrorists or collateral damage. It didn't matter to me.

If that makes me less than manly, so be it.

Way to miss the entire point of a post just because you don't like the first sentence.

So war isn't entertaining but stories about war are? Where is the logic in that?

Ever noticed that vets stereotypically don't talk about their experiences? Telling the stories isn't fun either.

As you said yourself, the stories are never accurate or the truth, so is it really that hard to figure this out Rourke? Hope off that serious train and enjoy the common sense walk-a-thon!!

I suppose, war is nothing to joke about, though. I have my point of view and I understand it. I'm not going to waste time explaining myself so some self centered egotistical prick an pick apart my words for his own pathetic weak agenda. [duh]

Referring back to the actual topic here. I'd rather be told of this kind of story rather than see it on YouTube because as they say, ignorance is bliss. At least with it being a story, one could have reason to believe our soldiers are not doing something so weak to deceased people. Then again, I'm not there so what the hell do I know? I suppose this is hypocritical of me because when I was about to join the Marines they told me how they got their moniker, Devil Dog's and I thought it was funny.

Well it's better to piss on the dead than some sort of lewd homosexual necraphelia.

I'm with Gunny on this topic - pissing on the Taliban really doesn't bother me.

dfosterf (22m) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (24m) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (11h) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (14h) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (16h) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (16h) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (16h) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (16h) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (16h) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (16h) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (16h) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (16h) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (16h) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (21h) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : How's the ayahuasca tea he makes, Martha?
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : Turns out he like older women
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : I wasn't supposed to say anything, but yes the word is out and we are happy 😂😂😂

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : Well he can always ask his brother for pointers
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : Bo Melton taking some reps at CB as well as WR
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : key transactions coming today at 3pm that will consume more cap in 2025
