According to profootballfocus's twitter.

ProFootballFocus.com @ProFootbalFocus
Devin McCourty gave up 19 yards in Wk 17 to finish the season with 1004 yards allowed. Tramon Williams gave up 178 in Wk 17 to end on 1034

He was at like 400-500 after week 13. He allowed that many yards in 4 games?

What were his stats last year? He seemed to be more of a shut down corner last year and much less effective this year, but I would like to see some numbers to support this.

Devin McCourty and Tramon Williams are both very fine corners... Who get screwed over when you only watch statistisc like this.

Both play the Nr. 1 receiver on a team that can't generate a pass rush to safe its life. If you give nearly any Nr. 1 receiver in this league a couple of second, he'll get some seperation from the CB.

Then, when we do want to generate pressure, we have to bring DBs, extra LBs etc... That means that a player like Tramon is going solo against a Calvin Johnson. That's a task that's as impossible for him as it is for Darrele Safety Blanket Revis.

For a good portion of the first half of the season Tramon Williams was also playing with a shoulder injury.

Nick Collins loss has played a major role in this years defense. I mean yes the defense is still making the necessary turnovers but losing a guy like Collins hurts ... I'm sure if Collins we're in we'd have about 100 yards less against us per game. Don't forget Collins was excellent at reading the runs and would get in and interrupt.

I'm still not worried, unless the offense is stopped then ... this team has a chance to lose but I'd doubt it. We beat last years Steelers and Bears defense ... which we're among the best. Saints - Falcons - Giants - Lions are all less better defensive teams as last year. Niners on the other hand ... IMO if a team like Saints and Packers play them, I think they will open the flaws on defense. I mean yes Niners #1 against run and all ... but hey, Saints and Packers barely run.

He was an all-pro candidate as a rookie, but he's just losing the one-on-one battle this year. Frankly, I'd pick on him if I were an offensive coach. New England only has one DB playing well and that’s Patrick Chung.

I still think the only team that is able to beat us in the playoffs is New York. New York has to get past Atlanta to do so and hopefully they will take some lumps playing them.

There isn't a defense that can stop the Packers in the playoffs. Big deal, the 49ers have a great rush defense. Packers hardly run the ball. I'll also put my money on Packers defensive turnovers vs Alex Smith.

A failing pass rush very much factors in, that's all I'm saying.
