#1....ESPN's QBR rating is total crap....throw it out.

#2....14-2 or 15-1, The only other stat that matters.

MVP by unanimous vote....Aaron Rodgers, well probably not unanimous because some clown down New Orleans way will just have to give his vote to Breese.

If you have the attempts, completions, yards, TD's and interceptions you most certainly can. What is passer rating? Is that the ESPN QBR thing? I assume so since that's we are talking about.

There's no reason to use Passer Rating (ESPN?) over QB Rating. Although I don't believe one is better than the other, I don't think ESPN's QBR is a legitimate substitute for QB Rating because it's something ESPN recently came up with. Why stop there, why not use the Aikman Rating system for teams while we're at it?

ESPN uses QB rating or QBR. Same thing I think. I don't use it so I don't know for sure. In fact, I have not even looked it up. I don't know if the have the QBR for the D listed like they have for the Passer Rating.

This is more subjective because it looks at intent. If a QB is spiking the ball it counts differently. You can't go back to the 40s with that.

QBR might be more accurate, I don't know. I would have to see how well it correlates to wins and losses.

I'm thoroughly confused and you didn't even come close to answering anything at all for me.

ESPN's thing is garbage. I say this because it had Tim Tebow higher than Aaron Rodgers. Sure, call me bias, but I think that's horse shit.

The standard rating that's been used for many years is what I feel is more credible than whatever crap ESPN came up with. Last I checked, there were no all time records for ESPN's little rating. Thus, the QB Rating commonly used is vastly more important than ESPN's deal.

It should be clear that I feel the confusion lies upon myself, not you. As if that wasn't already obvious.

Brees game today sure gives him the MVP based on stats. Voters should consider the common sense rule in this matter though. AR best contribution to today's game was to stay healthy and call plays on the sideline and this should be considered in the voting. Honestly though, the fans and pundits love stats.

Just noticed, 🇦🇷 broke Peyton Manning's record!

Aaron finished the season with a 122.5 rating. Manning's record was 121.1. Kudos to Aaron.

Now, MVP. Aaron finished with a 9.0% TD percentage which is #1 in the NFL. His 1.2% INT is the lowest in the NFL. His 10.5 yards per attempt is #1 in the NFL. His 122.5 rating is of course the new passer rating record. So 4643 yards, 45 TDs vs 6 INTs. Also add 257 yards rushing and 3 rushing TDs.

Brees finished with 5486 yards for that record (previously owned by Marino). His completion % is the new record, and his total completions broke Peyton Manning's 2010 record. Brees finished with 46 TDs which is 1 more than Aaron had. He did throw 14 INTs, which any other year would be absolutely sick (46 TDs vs 14 INTs is pretty freaking good). He only rushed for 1 TD.

This race is gonna be close.

Let's not forget Brady is still arguably in the race. His stats are pretty good as well.

On a side note, Manning will retire with 0 significant records. He'll fall short of all of Favre's longevity records (total games won, TDs, yards, attempts, completions). All his former single season records have been bested as well. Between Brady, Brees, and Aaron, Manning fell short for the single season records. Bragging rights - I did say Brees would be better than Manning back in '09 and last year I said Aaron would be better than Brees.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Marino is now officially out of the record books. The single season yards record was the last big Marino record to fall. Ironically, two people beat it this year (Brady did as well, but fell short of Brees).

But yeah. I wish Peyton Manning had a crappy season instead of getting injured. Wouldn't wish injury on anyone, even Suh.

Brees might get the MVP after his performance yesterday. It also helped him by Rodgers not playing.

Regarding if Matt Flynn's performance diminishes the chances of Aaron Rodgers winning the MVP.

"That shouldn't be the case at all,'' Flynn told me after his shredding of the Lions. He seemed upset to think it might be. "The numbers today were just because we went back and forth all day. Nothing I did today should do anything to diminish what Aaron's done. He's the MVP, for sure, for what he's done from the start of the season.''

^^^ Agreed ... probably the only reason why I would want AR to lose the MVP ... give him a chip on the shoulder ... he gets you another SB!
