In the past few hours, I have had time to reflect on yesterday's game and I want to sincerely apologize for letting my teammates down, the organization, and especially to my fans who look to me for positive inspiration.

Playing professional sports is not a game. It is a profession with great responsibility, and where performance on and off the field should never be compromised. It requires a calm and determined demeanor, which cannot be derailed by the game, referee calls, fans or other players.

I want to reiterate my commitment to working to become a better player, and professional — on and off the field. My reaction on Thursday was unacceptable. I made a mistake, and have learned from it. I hope to direct the focus back to the task at hand — by winning.

How apparent is it that this statement was written by someone in the Lion's media office and then given to Suh to post. I doubt he even knows the meaning of words like demeanor and derailed. He probably can't even spell them correctly with spell check.

While I have no doubt the statement was written by a PR flack (see, there's someone actually using the word flack correctly!), I wouldn't be so quick to judge Suh's intelligence. Judging by some of the interviews I've heard, Suh is actually one of the more articulate men in the league. It's too bad he doesn't seem to exert a little more of that intelligence on the field.

Believe me, I wasn't defending him. When his first statement came out, it was so absurd that Kevin and I were chuckling about it. And you may have a point that part of the reason for his articulateness during interviews might be that he hews closely to the line handed him by the PR personnel. Obviously, I don't know one way or the other.

Rick Morrissey has a fantastic article about this game in the Chicago Sun-Times .

Analysts referred to that as a “turning point.’’ In reality, the turning point was when Rodgers walked onto the field. He set an NFL record Thursday with his 11th straight game with a passer rating of at least 100. By comparison, Cutler has 13 games of 100 or higher since coming to the Bears in 2009.

[ . . . ]

All this Rodgers love might appear unseemly, seeing as how he plays for the hated Packers, but come on. You have to acknowledge greatness when you see it. It’d be a lot easier if there were something Favre-like about Rodgers to hate. A selfish streak. A sexting scandal. A need for drama. There’s nothing.

It's a must-read for any Packers fan.

Another article, this time from boston.com .

The defending-champion Packers are 11-0 for the first time in franchise history and have won a team-record 17 straight, including the playoffs.

“I don’t feel any pressure, this is a good place to be,’’ coach Mike McCarthy said. “Who doesn’t want to be 11-0?’’

I love it.

"Studs and Duds"," a fan feature on Yahoo! Sports . Worth a read. I agree with his evaluation of the officiating in the game.

Dud: Mike McCarthy (First Half)

The biggest gripes that I had with the first half included the two dropped passes from Jermichael Finley(notes) on the opening drive and Mike McCarthy's over-aggressive playcalling. I was expecting to see more running plays against the NFL's 28th-ranked run defense. Instead, the Packers weren't even using James Starks(notes) or Ryan Grant(notes) as they were lining up in spread formations on third and one.

Stud: Mike McCarthy (Second Half)

Mike McCarthy called a more-balanced offensive attack during the second half that included more running plays and screen passes that essentially replaced the running plays in his offense. Running the football prevents the defense from going all-out on Aaron Rodgers(notes) on every play. I'd just like to see a few more carries as the season winds down.
