Don't know if this has been discussed(maybe it is way too early) but I think it would be a real joy if the pack and the 9ers were to meet in the nfc title game. Rodgers could get some revenge on the one person that took his number one slot and Smith could say he belonged there. The analysis leading up to that game could be fun.

Let's not forget that Smith will have motivation.

There's not one single day in San Francisco where at least one of its denizens don't say "we should have picked Aaron Rodgers instead of Alex Smith." You think Smith never overheard anyone say that?

That said, πŸ‡¦πŸ‡· is the best QB in the NFL. It would be a good fight the best O in the NFL vs the best D in the NFL. Don't underestimate the Niners. Although they don't score points, they don't allow them either. πŸ‡²πŸ‡² is not going to have it easy scheming past that D.

The 49ers remind me a lot of the Falcons last year. A game managing QB with limited range, a ball control running game and a pretty good D.

I think we match up extremely well against them. Much like the Falcons.

Their D is not as strong against the pass. They are strong against the run. We have played teams like that 4 times a year every year. The Vikings and Bears have been like that for a long time. Recently Detroit has kind of developed along that line.

Our league leading passing game will be attacking the weakest part of their D. The secondary. We don't rely on the running game until we are running out the clock. Then we seem to be hard to stop.

When playing from a huge lead, our D gives up yards. But they are still taking ball away and keeping the opponents Passing efficiency very low. We have the 7th ranked D in passer rating.

If we are playing with a big lead, it will force Smith to step up and try to go down field a lot. That is when he is at his weakest and the Packers can capitalize on him.

Playing the 49ers in Green Bay's cold climate might help the 49ers more than hurt them.

The only thing that'd piss me off about this matchup is that Joe Buck will start talking about how McCarthy was the OC for the 49ers when they picked Smith and how Rodgers fell to the Packers and he'll finis it off with either "I bet McCarthy is glad he didn't pick Rodgers now!" or "Needless to say, those two had to work something out when McCarthy came to GB!" and Aikman will make some dumb remark and go "hahahahaha" and some fan will finally throw a brick at those two babbling idiots...

With the last part being wishful thinking, mostly.
