Favre in his prime was something to behold. Aaron in his prime is something to behold. Making statistical comparisons will never appropriately answer the question "who is better?" I say, "Who cares?" We are extremely blessed as Packers fans to be able to enjoy amazing quarterback play for such a long time.

Astroturf was a disaster for pro football.

The rest is just yammering.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

You can't take away '93, '99, '00, '05, '06, '08 and '10 either. Mixed in with those 5 great years, were 7 horrible years and 10 playoff melt downs.

It isn't spite or denial. It is what he is. Great and catastropic. Denying that is also an injustice to football.

Interesting to me in the YouTube video of all of Faver's '95 TDs is that most of the time, the receivers were pretty open. It wasn't miracle pass after miracle pass, as some seem to remember it. It was really good, solid quarterback play on a talented offense, by a Hall of Fame Quarterback in his prime. And Robert Brooks was awesome. Fun to watch.

When Favre miscommunicated, the WR was moving away from coverage to an open area and Favre was hitting a DB in the chest. Then pointing his finger at the WR for running the wrong route.

Rodgers has said he doesn't throw to the receiver, he throws away from coverage.

In addition:

I think the name of the thread should have been "Taking Rodgers whole career and Favre in his prime". It is cherry picking to take only Favre's best years and compare them to Rodgers. Favre was not only in his prime. That was only a quarter of his career.

And the period he's calling Faver's "prime" is a 16 game stretch where he was at his absolute best, with 49 TDs to 7 INTs over 16 games. That's outstanding play by any measure, and the total stats stack up pretty similar to Rodgers over his last 16, which has been his best so far.

The awesome thing is that we don't know that this stretch will even end up being Rodgers' best. If it ends up being his best, he will have about matched the pinnacle of Faver's game. Seems like Rodgers might be closer to the beginning of his career than to the end, so he may well make it a unanimous decision by the time it's all over.

I would really like to see this same comparison but including post season games in the stretch.
edit: Not that I expect it to make much difference, since both players won the superbowl in the stretches that are being compared.

Brett
95, his 3 ratings were 115.5,132.9,84.0
96 - 107.4,107.3,107.9
97 - 57.1,98.1,91.0

Aaron
09 - 121.4
10 - 122.5,136.8,55.4,111.5
11 - ?

Let's not forget that both Aaron and Brett ran in some Playoff TDs as well.

I'm assuming 2011 > 1997. Or at least I hope, but I'm willing to bet anyone a bottle of liquor (under $100) that 2011 > 1997. That would make Aaron's run > Brett's when you account for Playoffs. As much as I loved Brett, Aaron will retire a better QB than Brett and there will be no debate

We, as Packer fans, are blessed. 🖐 We take for granted that we had 3 of the greatest QBs ever on our team.

buckeyepackfan (17-Nov) : Jaire and Evans Williams are both ACTIVE! Good news.
Martha Careful (17-Nov) : The badgers really need to change the whole offensive scheme. No draws no screens plus the quarterback is marginal
Cheesey (17-Nov) : If the Badgers had a decent QB, they would have won. The guy can't hit a wide open receiver
Martha Careful (17-Nov) : chop block
Martha Careful (17-Nov) : there was a very questionable job Block call that upon viewing replay was very borderline
