I sure would hate to play poker (or chicken) with Ted. He cut AJ Hawk until his agent saw the light. He traded Brett Favre. He cut Wahle, Rivera, and Sharper.

Ted is carrying Finley, Crabtree, Quarless, Williams and Taylor this season getting the rookies/young guys ready to go.

A third or 4th compensatory pick is tempting.........

Does Finley really want to play with a lesser QB?
Sign with the Dolphins, Seahawks, Cardinals, or Daniel Snyder Dream Team for big money and no recognition?

I am not worried at all. In Ted I trust.

Finley would really help his negotiating power if he would catch more of those 3rd down passes that hit him in the hands and chest and bounce away.

Maybe it's the injuries that make think this, or arrogance in the amount of weapons the Packers offense has, ... I'm just not worried about Jermichael Finely being resigned. I believe it will be done, won't be a big headache like some fear... and on the flip side, if he's not resigned, I'm just not concerned there either.

Look at the salaries coming off the books after this year: Clifton, Driver, Grant, Collins. Good God, Finley will get close to what he wants, and he's worth it. That kid has some serious skills. This is becoming less of an issue. I'm more curious what we're going to do at safety and OLB.

Frankly, Wells is more important than Finley.

They have to draft a good one to replace him. Wells is at the point where he may only get a 3 year deal instead of 4.

Flynn is worth keeping for back up money. If the Dolphins, Seahawks, or Redskins are willing to pay him starter money, he may be gone.

Hawk received an $8 million dollar signing bonus and a new contract(3-5 years?), not sure how long.

Figure it out, Ted made a good deal, Hawk recieved what he originally signed for, and The Packers now have him locked up at a salary friendly cap #.

There is no doubt in my mind that Ted was going to cut Hawk before his last year, but things sure changed when Barnett went down and A.J took over the postition of defensive qb.

Keeping under the salary cap is going to be a little easier now that there are caps on rookies.
The day of the back-loaded contract is gone, which IMHO is a good thing.

I agree there is a reason there are 5 TE's on this years roster, but if Finley is willing to be tagged, well that will give him and The Packers another year to try and work things out.

As far as those of you who have already written off Clifton, Driver,Grant and Collins....let's just wait and see what happens the next 12 weeks.

I remember after last year the talk was there was no way James Jones would be back, earlier this season it was "no way would Jordy Nelson be signed to an extended contract".

Probably just the old school sentiment in me, but I really do believe a lot of these guys realize just how special this team can be and are willing to re-sign with The Packers for less money.

In Ted's defense, he always let's a guy explore Fa's if he wants, but he also seems to offer a fair deal to those players he wants to keep.

Is that better? If not.....I DON"T CARE!!!!!!
