Obviously Jermichael Finley would rather a long term extension with the Packers. Even with that said, he's okay with getting slapped with the franchise tag.

If they do that, I’m down with that. I ain’t going to be pissed off. I just love the game, and I was just blessed to be making money. I’m just taking it all in.

You can’t ask for a better city just because there’s nothing to do, for one thing. I’m going to be real with you, there’s less trouble you can get into. It’s first class in everything they do — contracts, around the building — everything’s first class.

Jermichael Finley has not had the expected astonishing numbers this season. After 7 games Jermichael Finley has 25 catches for 334 yards and four touchdowns (3 came against the Bears in one game). Surely the low numbers are reflective of all of the Packers weapons, rather than Finley's talent.

At least Finley has been healthy all seven games.

I heard that the team was afraid to tag him, because they thought he would cause a distraction..Sorry, no link, just someone with knowledge told me

This might be his way of telling them, hey tag me, I will be good

I would think saying "hey ill take the tag" would take a bargaining chip away from the negotiation discussions. Now the Packers know if they don't come to an agreement on a long term deal, they can just slap a franchise tag on him and try again later.

He wants to earn two rings and then go fleece Jerrah for the $$$$. I have no problem with that. Would like to see him stick around for the dynasty but a man needs to do what he needs to do.

Should Finley walk in 2013 - it would probably be in the Packers best interest to go get one of those 6-5 posession receivers.

I'm glad he feels that way, but say that when the season is over, not during it. C'mon now. I like Finley a lot, but sometimes I wish he'd just shhh. He's been getting better with the mouth though, I'll give him that.

I was glad to hear this from Finley. He said way more than he needed to say about the Packers. It sounds genuine to me. His production hasn't been enormous, but it's still very good for a TE, and he's drawing double coverage at times. I think he will have a very big second half of the season.

The franchise tag is not expensive for TEs. I'm guessing he'd make more without the tag. It's really a no brainier. I know he hasn’t had the numbers everybody thought, but he’s still putting up a ridiculously good season for a TE. He is on pace for 57 receptions, 700-plus yards, and 9 TDs. There is no shame in that.

What's up with the "nothing to do in Green Bay" statement all the time? There are things to do, but apparently not things that Finley or others want to do.
