jeez people - relax!! it's the holiday season - everybody gets a tad sentimental this time of year. they had a crap game last week, he's down, & wants to go home to his family - period!

I do believe The Packers will make a late run and make the play-offs, if they don't and finish at or below :500, look for the following players to be gone by next year.

Clifton
Tauscher
Harris
Woodson
Driver

I have no inside info:, this is just my opinion, after watching Ted Thompson operate the last 4 years.

The window is closing for these players to make another run at the superbowl, if it doesn't happen this year, Ted Thompson will go younger and start building for another run in a few years.

The biggest surprise of all next year.......Greg Jennings will not be with The Green Bay Packers, he will test Free agency and get an offer Ted Thompson will not match. I hope I am completely wrong on this one but don't think so.

They aren't getting rid of Woodson and the Packers will not allow Greg Jennings on the free agent market, they will either sign him or franchise tag him.

I was wondering about this but does anyone else get the feeling after what happened to Brett that the other vets were worried about this kind of stuff, I mentioned that way back when all the bs went down. I can see Ted Thompson trading him off and i predict driver will be the next to go also. Now about the Jennings comment goes I had that same feeling also when he refused to sign an extension ( I made a post about it) as far as the team not allowing him they can't stop him if he plays out his contract and they can only franchise him for one year and the following year they can't put any tag on him. All this bs about building for the future i want to know when the hell this future is? Ted Thompson has been rebuilding for the future since he got here.

ALso as far as wiki goes i sure hope you know that those are just written opinions by people not always true facts, ( I know this because we were not allowed to use it for references on my college papers).
Next year should be interesting, actually see if Ted Thompson makes it through the year if he trades away more vets and we end up with a losing season because we will have a very tough schedule next year.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I certainly don't hope this will happen. I can't imagine that Ted Thompson would want to trade him away. Like said before, our young CBs could use another year as back-ups, nickel- and dimecorners.

I know Ted Thompson wants to have a young team, and wants to build something himself from the ground up, but there's no reason to trade away players when you have one of the youngest rosters, you have a .500 team and have tons of potential. Draft picks aren't going to 'solve' the inconsistencies, a veteran player can.

Brett Favre.

Ted Thompson would trade Babe Ruth if he had a chance to do so and a nickel to save.

I would too. I doubt Babe Ruth is that good of a football player.

That Wikipedia quote was an obvious example of vandalism and I'm glad an alert editor scrapped it.

I used to be a Wikipedia devotee, but I gave up in despair as my articles were typically vandalized faster than I could maintain them. As an authoritative reference source, Wikipedia is a joke -- particularly on controversial issues. As a starter source for finding better sources of information on relatively neutral topics like the molecular weight of isobutyl alcohol it's . . . okay.

Thanks for the heads up -- though it still goes to show how worthless wikis are for authoritative information. When anyone can edit them, anyone can deface them.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you despise Ted Thompson so much that you are looking at what is the worse possible scenario that could happen or that he would allow to happen.

I don't think the team will be gutted next year as Ted Thompson will be gone if the team does not win in 2009. He's not stupid enough to let go veteran players when he needs to win.

People forget that Aaron Rodgers and Justin Harrell were first round picks. That's why Favre and Williams were gone. To get first round picks on the field. Obviously that was a stupid move, but it's a philosophy that a lot of teams do use.

I think Tauscher and Clifton are on thin ice with the Packers. I think one of them will be gone in the off season, but they'll hold onto one.

Driver is safe and I think Harris is if he wants to be, although I'm wondering if he just wants out.

I agree with you about Greg Jennings. I think he wants to test free agency, but GB won't allow him to test it. They'll franchise him for 2010. He'll then sign for a ridiculous contract due to the NFL not having a salary cap in 2011.

This of course is assuming he GB doesn't wow him this off season.

i think he's signed through 2010. so if they franchise him, it'll be for 2011, right?

Maybe him and Arod will keep it up the last 4 games and he will have to come back.

I hope, I hope, I hope...
