if winning a super bowl is wrong, here's hoping the Packers are wrong every year.

The play calling didn't really change that much. The majority of them are option plays. Rodgers reads what the D is exposed to and exploits it.

If you don't like the play calling, blame the opponents defensive alignment.

Although it has been suggested enough in the past, people tend to forget: a number of the plays change at the line of scrimmage. The game against the Bears is a good example, I think. Chicago was routinely playing with only six in the box to account for Green Bay's 3WR sets. On the drive that Grant took over, a good number of those runs were still from the 3WR alignments. Maybe McCarthy called run plays, or maybe the intention was to pass. However it worked out, the Pack ran it down their throat. On a series where the Pack run and it doesn't work, it's easy to assume McCarthy called consecutive run plays. Perhaps the truth is Rodgers liked a presnap match up and changed it to a run, and the offensive line simply didn't execute. The actual numbers and figures can only be speculated, because teams don't hand out this info.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I think the stats also show that the 3rd quarter is where the pack dominate the most. It make the quiet 4th quarter more evident.

A decade later. a 12 year old from Nebraska is voted NFL Coach of the Year. Ironically he used the same one play on offense.

McCarthy’s second-half conservatism was evident today in the 21 points scored in the third and fourth quarters of today's game.

Was it McCarthy's conservatism or was it Rodgers'? We all know that Rodgers is entrusted with a vast amount of discretion in this offense and that a large proportion of the play calls comprise run/pass options. Is it then McCarthy who is turning to the run or in fact Rodgers?
