Chris Harris was released by the Bears. He was an All Pro last season. Did he drop off or was a fluke? And could he add any value to the Packers?

I read up on him a little, and it sounds like he was a solid player but he declined sharply this season, possibly because of a bum hamstring. Maybe with a little rest he could return to form and at least be a solid back-up. Lots of teams will have a chance to pick him up before the Packers, though, and of course Ted Thompson doesn't pick up vets very often.

Capers asks a lot of coverage ability from is safeties and I'm not sure Harris would fill the bill there. Probably wouldn't be a bad pickup for the money, plus he could fill us in on the Bears D.

He was an above average safety in Carolina, and last year with the Bears he was definitely one of the best safeties in the league. So far this year is the year that differs the most, with him being completely horrible in the field. I think it's just a one-year thing because of his hammy though.
