With the exception of the Vikings and Saints games, Brett Favre would not have had an impact on any results of any of the games we've played this season.

This game verses Carolina just goes with that notion. He started out 0 for 4 passing, and I was all over him for targeting nobody but Greg Jennings with every pass he threw.

But as the game wore on, Rodgers kept hitting different receivers for intermediate gains. Ruvell Martin, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Donald Lee, and even Jermichael Finley made key receptions to prolong drives. The only way they would get involved would be if Rodgers bought time in the pocket, and his athleticism allowed him to do that.

Going into the season, our biggest fear (as Packers fans) would be Rodgers falling to injury, and he did get injured early in the season, but he hasn't missed a game and now he is back in full form. He ran for like a 13-yard gain before receiving a shellshocking hit by Julius Peppers--probably the most talented and sizable defensive end in the league at 6'7" and 292 lbs.

He hasn't had the experience of making miraculous 4th quarter comebacks yet, but honestly--if you have to make 4th quarter comebacks every week, then your team really isn't that good.

Aaron Rodgers has had a spectacular season. I just find it ridiculous that people continue to blame him for playing and handling the situation the way he is doing it. I originally used Philip Rivers as somebody to compare Rodgers to this season, but Rodgers is high and above that guy.

Just wait till he becomes a seasoned veteran. He's a special player. He definitely has the potential to be a "super" player. We just need to trust him.

Rodgers should only improve with experience, which is a scary thought.

The only thing though is that Rodgers hasn't proven to be able to win games by himself like Favre did.

That's not to say Rodgers is bad because he isn't Favre, on the contrary. Ultimately though, I think aany great QB needs to be able to win games on their own, when it looks like the team just can't win. Rodgers did that today in bringing his team back in the game with a great second half, but once again this season he couldn't get that final game winning drive near the end.

I hope/wonder if Rodgers can ever become a part of the great players that can carry their teams on their back and get them the win.

He's coming along nicely.
Can't pin this loss on him. He did everything he could.
Gave his D a lead with under 2 minutes. Left it in THEIR hands. And they couldn't hold it.

His toughness is one of the things that set him apart from a lot of QB's in the league. It was the same for #4, people know that it takes someone special to take snaps for The Green Bay Packers.

Glad we aren't a revolving door for new QB's.
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another. -Vince Lombardi

Rodgers basically did that in his first game as a starter.

Either way, in his first season as a starter, you just can't expect that. But there's no reason why he can't become that kind of quarterback.

Rodgers is clearly "the" guy. The only questions we have at quarterback now is whether one of our other quarterbacks can be regarded as trade bait.

We are good at the QB position. Just like we were at the start of the season.

Nice call, Ted.
Or Mike.
Or Brett.
Or whatever.

beast (6m) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (7m) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (9m) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (3h) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (4h) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (4h) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (6h) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (6h) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (6h) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (9h) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (10h) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
