I agree the cast could hinder his tackling ability. But if they add 6-7 inches to it he can knock down a lot of passes.

wow, one has to wonder if it would be best to rest him this week. Sure, the Rams might move the ball on us, but one would have to think our offense and OK defense could pull this one out. We're going to need Burnett for sure. SMH.

How else do I prove I read it?

If I say I read it, people want proof?

From the injury report I saw he's listed as probable.

However, I'm definitely skeptical about that, especially during a game I'm confident we could still pull out without him. Hopefully it all works out for the best.

Oh, and thanks for informing me that a broken hand is not a pulled hammy. Not sure how I would have figured that one out without your assistance! Of course he's not going to re-break whatever bone is already broken. My only fear is that an unfortunate circumstance could slow down the recovery time and allow this injury to drag out for multiple weeks. A safety obviously needs use of his hands to be fully effective. Hopefully that's not the case. The guy is a ball hawk and it will hurt to watch him not being able to catch gimmie ints, especially in tight games like the one next week will likely be.

But yeah, as I said, hopefully playing does not delay his recovery time in any way. That would certainly be ideal.

DL is not asked to catch the ball as often as a S, that's for sure. I'm thinking with one hand, Burnett is better than M.D. Jennings. I don't think taking a week off will expedite the recovery process.

With how protective the Packers are with players, I think he'll be okay. The hand has a lot of bones, what was exactly broken?

I think its fairly safe to say that if the medical staff thought there was a significant risk there, he wouldn't be playing. I wouldn't worry about it too much, these guys are professionals after all. Not only that, but there are a handful of cases in recent history of players playing with casts and being perfectly fine, Reggie White, Antonio Freeman, Nick Barnett, Cullen Jenkins, etc.

Certainly, if they thought there was a risk there, I would prefer him to sit out as well.

I also really doubt that the fact they are playing the rams factors into it at all, I mean I really hope it doesn't. The rams are an NFL team, and no matter how unlikely it is, GB could theoretically lose to them. When you get to the point of "oh we'll hold this guy out because its just the RAMS" I think you run into problems.

beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
