Okay, I know this is petty, but this kind of little error doesn't sit well with me.



I always thought each writer had an editor, if true, how can two PROFESSIONAL "writers" over look such rudimentary mistakes?

I found another similar mess up, although it was more grammatical than anything, with a Jason Wilde article. Jason is normally pretty damn good.


Is it too much to ask for writers to spend an extra 10 minutes proofing their material before submitting it? Maybe these errors are why sports editors don't want me to allow their material being posted "all over the internet" because its an embarrassment to their attention to detail?

I always find it annoying. Like my son they most likely rely too much on spell check. When they were in Jr High, I had told both of my kids to take the time and re-read what they have typed to make sure there are not errors on the paper. They argued with me. After a few grades being lowered they complained about the spell check, the teacher and everything else but themselves.

I have a neighbor who use to do the spell checking and formatting for a lot of book publishers. She would tell me how badly others were in this area and that was why she had been so successful even though she was often more expensive. Every time I loan her a book I tell her that I found a lot of typos and i am sure she will see even more. She tells me it ruins her enjoyment of reading when there are so many obvious mistakes.

You know what annoys the piss out of me? When professional journalists use "it's" as a possessive. That drives me nuts. I want to punch the journalist in the face. It's one thing for a blogger to do that, but for a guy to make his living doing it and not correctly proofreading his shit pisses me off.

Keiana and I do 25 spelling words a week. If she gets one wrong, she re-writes it 10 times. If any of them are wrong, or poorly written, she does the 10 over. She didn't like me much the first few weeks, but now that she's acing her spelling tests, she's happy as can be.
