Correction noted, Marine. (was inadvertent typo)
But the necessity of civilian control and chain of command doesn't mean you should be wasting drinking time on proven pinhead morons. :)
Now, what he shoulda asked for is "a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead".
Just my asshole opinion, of course.

Brett Favreian like, if you spend enough time amongst those that serve this country, you get the great gift of being witness to some awesome displays of heroism...
I have seen it from members of every branch of our services, and several times from the REMFS I so often disparage (Kids... remf= rear echelon mother-fucker)
Navy Corpsmen-- Those f#gs (possessors of not-considered "normal" levels of effeminate qualities PC- ME ๐ ) got us all beat. 3/4 of them in combat are at least as deserving as this kid that got that medal... bet he'd agree. I could go on, Sailors rushing into a burning and exploding magazine well, Soldiers standing tall with no fire support, those incredibly AWESOME Air Force kids that go get our pilots (ruff-puffs stealing Marine jobs, but I digress ๐ )
I AM most impressed by the kids in the other services that came through when they DIDN'T THINK THEY WERE SIGNING UP FOR THIS KIND OF SHIT
I give guys like Non a little shit, because guys like me -- "ilk" ? (we are called "line" Marines, amongst the cognoscenti (and his brother, btw- I believe, though while at Parris Island possibly out of of the "FMF" [Fleet Marine Force}) are NOT CONFUSED. We are in the KILLING BUSINESS, we know it, and guys in that business get killed, often. Pointy end of the stick, bring us beans, bullets and bandaids (or their modern day equivalent...This is what ALL THE REST DO...) There is no braggadoccio in that statement, no macho b.s., no war story-- It is what we are told from day one that we do. There will be heroism noted, in the aftermath. At the time, mostly everyone is trying to keep one another alive.
The ones that don't see it coming are in fact often the most impressive. Honestly.
