Kind of like Grant and Driver being retained for another season.. massage the cap, retain the core and keep the fans in bliss. 😇

When a team runs on you, it demoralizes you because running is mostly about attitude.

49ers, Lions, and Bears - why would you want to run the ball when the exploitation of their weak ass secondaries is so much easier.

And Zero, your metaphor needs to be, a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest you dumbass.

Zero, I was not trying to slant anything. Nor did I imply that he had 29 carries in a game. He had 29 for the regular season and had 101 yards. Those are the numbers. I could have said that he got them over the last 8 weeks of the season that he was on the active roster. THAT would have been slanting the stats. I thought about it but didn't do it. :-"

Even when you look at the 2 games he had a 4 + yard per carry avg. The 49er game was a good one. But 20 yards against the Bears is still not "picking up just fine" material.

I'll beat both your silly asses in such a contest.. lol. Race.. probably not.. this.. you bet your ass. lol.

You guys totally miss the whole point: Grant and Driver make too much money. There are guys chomping at the bit behind them on the roster who are younger, more hungry, and in both cases better players (Nelson and Jones should already be ahead of Driver). Green and Starks make me quite confident about getting rid of Grant. As for Driver, I would rather keep Chastin, and make that horrible decision of cutting a guy a year too late. Luckily we have a GM who doesn't give a shit about people's attachments to players and makes decisions for the future of the team not the present. We'll see how this all plays out.

The offensive line example does not apply to this situation because Clifton and Tauscher were still better than the guys beneath him. My main concern isn't Ryan Grant - it's signing Sitton, Finley, and Nelson; and if it's at the cost of Grant and maybe Driver - so be it.

Driver also catches the "important" ones better than Jones.

I'm waiting for them to surpass Driver before I can say either are better. It hasn't happened yet. It may happen in 2011. We will see.

And since unlike VR, you got no money, I'll do a gentleman's bet with you. Grant gets more rushing yards than any other Packer RB in 2011. Wanna bet? There's a reason why 🇲🇲 has Grant ahead on the depth chart.

Next season, we will be digging through the underpaid labor pool that is the NCAA for those diamond in the rough types. IE.. Nance has not shown me anything to say he is a stud.. serviceable, yes. Has potential? Probably. More upside than a Green? Debatable.

Delicate balance... is all.

If Uncle Teddy feels he needs Drivers cap room .. do you not think we will either A) Approach the situation as was done with Grant or 😎 move him for something in return Ala #4.

May sound cold.. but players are commodities in this business. IMO.. the only untouchable on the roster is Rodgers at this point.. Matthews and Raji are probably close to it.

Other than that.. it would not surprise me if anyone was moved for the right value in return.

But we are a team that lives on offense with timing, experience and knowledge of the system.. IMO, A Driver still is playing at a high level.. if West, Gurly, or whomever shows the same level of the above and can play.. it would not surprise me to see Driver replaced.

I just happen to think that Driver still provides more.. and Grant apparent via the guarantee has that confidence of TT.. so they are kept.

None of the players you speak (Sitton, Finley, Nelson) of are walking until next season.. we have what 13-14 million in cap room.. after week 10 (I think) you can push some money out into next season if need be. IMO, we have the flexibility to keep the best players for now and protect the future.

Roster spots will always be available if the player is truly a "stud".. I like the group of young players as a West.. or a Saine.. Or a Gurly.. Or Gordy.. but I think it way to early to label them a stud.

But I do agree with you premise.. rather cut a year to early than a year to late. I just don't think that year is upon us with Driver or Grant. Maybe.. but we shall see.

On O - Rodgers and Gregorious. Why Gregorious? Their chemistry is so strong. You will see Finley traded within the next two or three years but Gregorious and Rodgers will be together for quite some time.

That core isn't going anywhere for a few years at least. Woodson of course will be the first to retire but I still stand by my statement that he's the best tackler on the team.

Oh, and AJ Hawk isn't going anywhere. No, I'm not on crack. Hawk will be consistently solid. He may never make a Pro Bowl, but for our style D (as long as we have Dom), he's very good.

T Williams and S Shields may be Packers for quite some time as well.

No. Rushing yards only. Grant can't do a screen if his life depended on it.

And I really don't think we're using up his ass before letting him go. Grant is consistent and his style of running isn't going to get him hurt like Starks' style. 🇹🇹 and 🇲🇲 are well aware of this. I do think he'll be on the team in 2012. Maybe not 2013, but 2011 fo shizzle and 2012 most likely.
