Ship Underwood and Lee to the G-men

They could send us a backup Guard/center and a draft pick. I hate the thought of cutting guys good enough to be on an NFL roster and not getting anything for them.

Yes, would be nice to get something for good players that have to be let go. But it is easier said than done. It's a shame we could not get anything for Barnett. Just to couple with a pick and move up in the draft even. Oh well, I'm sure Ted Thompson will be trying-love those draft picks you know.

The only trade like this that I can remember is Ted trading Tony Moll for Derrick Martin. A guy who wasn't going to make our team for a guy we wanted. (And may favorite trade ever: back up long snapper for a conditional 7th rounder.)

I agree that Underwood and Lee are worthless as trade bait. They are both likely to be cut. Lee has to be one of the worst second round draft picks of recent years, though he's still not as bad as Brian Brohm.

My personal favorite trade was during the 2008 draft when Ted traded a seventh round pick to the Saints for a sixth round pick in the 2009 draft. There was a guy the Saints wanted who was still available in the seventh round, so they initiated the deal.
