Neal sprained his knee in practice today, running individual drills. No word on which ligament(s) or how serious. McCarthy said the way he fell scared them. He was down for a bit and then got up and walked off on his own power.

If you hear any updates, post here! I'm sure we won't hear more until tomorrow at the earliest.

Anyone know how long a knee sprain typically takes to recover from? We talking weeks, couple days?

Well that "paper" depth may get tested early....

If it's really "just a knee sprain" then I'm not too concerned. I imagine an NFL player should be able to make it back fairly healthy in a month, no? Anyone remember how long others took to recover?

My only real worry if it is more than a knee sprain at this point.

but sounds like it wouldn't be that serious.
I doubt he plays this Friday- as a precaution. Mike tends to let guys sit during preseason games if there is the slightest injury.

I would not be surprised if they hold him out a couple of pre season games. You wouldn't want to risk reinjuring or injuring it worse during pre season. Sprains can be nagging injuries. Hopefully, it's very slight.

I was worried about our d-line depth already, but this makes it even worse. Hopefully we won't have to play Lang and Sitton on d-line again like last year.
